No icon response [Solved]

OK. Here the latest. Computer blue screen twice last night. I turned it on left for the day and came back to a welcome screen saying computer restored to Aug 15th. Everything seems normal kinda of but had to reinstalled fire fox and update explorer…Now avast wont log on, ati start problem and something about entering a product code but wont show what it is for….

• Click Start and My Computer.
• Right-click the hard drive you want to check, and click Properties.
• Select the Tools tab in the Error Checking section click Check Now. Check both boxes. Click Start.
  
  • You'll get a message that the computer must be rebooted to run a complete check.
• Click Yes and reboot. Chkdsk will take a while, so run it when you don't need to use the computer for something else.

• Go to Start - Run and type in eventvwr.msc, and hit enter.
• When Event Viewer opens, click on "Application", then scroll down to "Winlogon" and double-click on it to open it up.
• This is the log created after running chkdsk. Click on the icon that looks like two pieces of paper to copy it and then paste it here please.

It took like 3/4 hours to run . I can see the twopaper icon but when i click on it nothing happens and it wont open.

How does the computer seem to be running, and new issues? Any more blue screen episodes?

Computer is running ok expect for avast is wont enable, ati catalyst center stop working, also when computer starts up i get something about a activation code for a product and no clue what its for.

Start by uninstalling Avast, > reboot, then download a new copy of Avast and reinstall.

As far as the program looking for the activation code, does it indicate what program it is for?

I didn't have any problems with my graphics card until these problems started.. It doesn't show what the product is it just say product code or buy now option. It won't uninstall avast it say : Error reading product data from "c:\Program files\avast software\avast\setup|part-setup_ais-557.vpx' setup cannot continue

The avast uninstall worked, just fine. May i re-install avast or do you have a better option?

Yes re-install Avast if that is the AV you'd like to use. The choice is up to you. I actually use Avast also.

But here are some other options should you be dissatisfied with Avast:

Free Anti-Virus

• Avira Free Antivirus 2013
• PC Tools AntiVirus Free
• Ad-Aware Free Antivirus +

I stay with Avast I think I had good luck with it… Now the last two problems any idea?

On the Catalyst Control error message please click on the "view the contents of the error report" link and include that information in your next reply.

For the product registration error, you can try and click the Buy now button and see if it reveals what program it is for.

It look like the buy now was the online armor that I uninstalled so might just need a removal tool to fully clear it ..

I could copy and paste the text from the error code but I guess if my computer is clean I can move to hardware section to finish up there..

I did a screen shot of the website and as much as I could of the error code.
