Okay, I uninstalled and deleted all the clean up tools and logs. I downloaded the TFC cleaner but didn't quite understand its behavior. It froze my desktop and I couldn't tell if it was done cleaning or not. So I unplugged my machine and after rebooting I went to CNet and downloaded ATF cleaner instead. I don't know if it's as good as the TFC or even performs the same functions. It removed 300mb of temp files and such. I'll try again running the TFC a little later.
Thanks for the advice on Internet safety. I'm actually very careful. I stay within about 15-20 well known websites like Hulu, Youtube, Netflix, Pogo, Jigzone and like that. I never go to weird websites and if I'm searching for information I check all unknown websites first with Avast Web Rep and then the url with Online Link Scan before deciding to visit. I never click links in emails and rarely click a website link. I typically link from a search engine so I can see what the website is about first and if there are any warnings about it. I bought this machine as a refurb from k-mart just as a back up in case anything happened to my "real" computer. Mostly it sat in a closet unused for 2 years. However, at one point I had to pawn if for some emergency cash and that's how I figure it picked up infections. Sad to say, but when you pawn electronics, it's a carp** shoot they will be returned to you in the same condition as when you put it in there. This is not the first time pawn shop people have messed with my stuff. One person actually stole all my inkjets from my printer a few years ago!
Anyhow, my "real" computer went toes up so now this one is going to be my primary for awhile until I can get another good one like my Acer.
I think I can live with this computer now, though. Before you fixed it I was having fantasies about running it over with my car!
Bad enough it had me cussing like a sailor!
It's running pretty good now and streaming like it's supposed to.
Thanks for all your help.
See ya!
