I read this book called teaching community: a pedagogy of hope by bell hooks. It was something. is anyone familiar with bell hooks?
I'm assuming you are talking about Gloria Watkins? Not my cup of tea. I'm not a real fan of violent feminist's. I believe she states that all "real" "enlightened" black women secretly long to murder any anonymous white males - and this is healthy and shows true personal growth. She is a teacher first… and a author second. She believes that a true teachers role is not to teach "facts"… but to challenge "accepted truths". She states that "teaching is a performance art that should be the catalyst for dramatic shifts in perceived reality. Only this leads to self-actualization." Nope… not for me thank you.
Violent femenist? Had no idea about that. Ahhh I will look into that I had no idea about any of that. Thanks for letting me know!

one thing i would criticize about that one book a read was her ideology of the sexual teacher student relationship.
