Nothing jumps out in the list you posted.

Try this: Since it boots to Safe Mode then something is starting at boot that is causing the problem. See the appropriate link below:

Advanced startup options - XP
Advanced startup options - Vista
Advanced startup options - Windows 7

Use msconfig to determine what is causing the problem

These are good tutorials on using msconfig in XP, Vista or Windows 7:
How to use msconfig in Windows XP
How to use msconfig in Windows Vista
How to use msconfig in Windows 7

Click on Start then Run, type msconfig and press Enter.
Click on the Startup tab, record what is currently starting then click the Disable All button.
Reboot and see if it runs better.
If yes then use msconfig to enable several items at a time till you find the culprit.

If no, start msconfig and click on the Services tab.
Check the Hide All Microsoft Services box, record what is currently starting then click the Disable All button.
Again, do a regular boot, see if it runs normal.
If yes then use msconfig to enable services till you find the culprit.

Once you've found the culprit, uninstall it or find out how to eliminate it from your system. Simply disabling it in msconfig is a temporary fix at best.
Enable everything else you disabled.
Followed the instructions using Msconfig. Disabled all startups and rebooted. But did not start in normal mode…..Did the same with processes same as before did not load in normal mode……Must be something I am missing…..
Have you tried selecting Last know configuration that worked from the Advanced Boot Options menu that you reach by pressing F8 at during boot?

If that doesn't help, do a System Restore to a date before this started happening, see if that helps.

Click on Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore.
I did that some time ago, I think the HD is failing….Tried a restore first but it didn't do any good. .Local computer guy ran a hardware test and he said the HD is about to go…..picking it up tomorrow and will see what else I might do…..Need to recover my data if possible. Don't know if it will even do a normal boot……I will keep you posted. Thanks!
Picked up the Laptop, but haven't had time to do anything as of yet….Going to start later today seeing what again I might try….Thanks!
