Hello wonder if anyone can help. I have been using internet Windows for many years. However at times have tried other software. Mainly this year installed Ubuntu software. However I have given it a good try, but don't seem to be able to use it on many issues. It self is a good software system but maybe I am getting old and hmmmm. Anyway friends my question I would guess for many is a easy one, but for myself It is buffing me how to do………….. I wish to return the main software working system in Windows XP ser 3. At present I have the latest copy of Ubuntu 12.10 Desktop. My problem is I load the official Win XP ser 3 disk into loading and creature the software to boot from that disk. I starts to load well running through loaning the window xp software………………until on the screen a large message appears with a blue background, with the message saying to words meaning I need to run a certain code of text message … which is the following: Run chkdsk/f Technical information - Stop= OX0000007B (OXFCB6524,OXC0000034,OX00000000, OX00000000 Can anyone help me how I can enable this message. As I have no idea how to deal with this matter, which is stopping me loading on the windows XP ser 3 disk in place of Ubuntu! I await any anyone that have had this happen to there pc ,and if they was able to sort the problem out. I would very much welcome to learn of it, hopefully be able to return the computer software back too windows XP ser 3. Thank You
Hi BigL Man and welcome to the WTT forums.

When you originally switched from Windows to Ubuntu did you set it up as a dual boot arrangement>
If you didn't do a dual boot arrangement then you will need to:
1 Delete the Linux partition and then create a new partition
2 Reformat it as NTFS
3 Reinstall Windows
You may be able to use your Windows XP installation disc to do this…. but if not DBAN may well do the trick
http://www.dban.org/
4 Remember that Win XP does not provide native support for SATA hard drives you do not need to bother with this if your computer has an IDE hard drive) but if it is a SATA drive then you may need either the SATA drivers on a floppy disc (and a floppy disc drive) , or a slipstreamed Win XP installation disc with the drivers included or be able to set your BIOS to operate in "IDE mode"

Explanation
Linux ( Ubuntu) uses a different file format from that used by Windows…. consequently a new Windows installation will stall at an early stage as it will not be able to read/write to the partition formatted for Linux. This is likely the problem that has initiated the error.
