ok i have the torrent client Vuze and today my avast anti-virus went nuts over a process called (i4j_extf_20_5p83tu.exe|>nsis.hdr). It classified the severity as High and it directed me to this directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Vuze\.install4j) that is my Vuze torrent client but i have used that client for over a year and trust it, i had no clue what it was so i ran Malwarebytes and Spybot search and destroy, they both said i was clean. but i take care of my PC i run weekly scans and clean out my downloads and clean out my registry errors, and i never download any thing risky, i use my torrent client to get linux builds or mods for this one game i play so i dont know what it could be at all, or maby its a false positive but id rather be safe than sorry
Hi and Welcome!! My name isJeff. I would be more than happy to take a look at your malware results logs and help you with solving any malware problems you might have. Logs can take a while to research, so please be patient and know that I am working hard to get you a clean and functional system back in your hands. I'd be grateful if you would note the following:
I will be working on your Malware issues, this may or may not, solve other issues you have with your machine.
The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for the issues on this machine.
Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine appears to be clear. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
It's often worth reading through these instructions and printing them for ease of reference.
If you don't know or understand something, please don't hesitate to say or ask!! It's better to be sure and safe than sorry.
Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.

Are you aware your system is set to run from a proxy server?
———-
Download Combofix from the link below, and save it to your desktop. Link
**Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**
If you get a message saying "Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion", please restart your computer.
——————————————————————–
IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here
——————————————————————–
Right-Click and Run as Administrator on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a report for you.
Please post the C:\ComboFix.txt for further review.
yes i'm aware that i'm set to run on a proxy, well I'm behind 2 DNS servers i do this because of speed issues from my ISP' and i have this laptop set up on one because my college campus blocks facebook and an alt DNS unblockes it and i use FB to keep up with my family. just for the record i'm not PC illiterate, i'm in college for the I.T field
and i know my way around a PC, I'm more of an advanced user but I'm not pro at it or anything, and when i run into something I'm just flat out stumped on or unsure of i come here, (all this is unnecessary to my issue really its just so i don't feel as embarrassed about asking for help, lol) ok im going to run the combo fix thing now, ill post back in a bit
ok i ran combo fix, it "fixed" my "infected" explorer.exe, actually this was intentional, i had a custom start button i put in myself, so….now i have to "re-infect" my explorer.exe
and yes i know about "AutoKMS" it was a crack i put in because i lost the packaging to my Microsoft office 2010 disk
ok it found 2 files one of which i know exactly what it is the other I'm pretty sure is a gimp resource/plugin. the other "crack1.ped" is a pedestrian file for grand theft auto. i appreciate your help but i want to know what this file is that initially posted about is, AVAST! currently has it in its "virus chest"
(shown here) [external image: Posted Image]
if you want i can get you this file to examine (i know how to get it out of the chest)
i guess you are just trying to see if my machine is clean first, if so just ignore me lol
carry on
Save this as CFScript.txt and change the "Save as type" to "All Files" and place it on your desktop.

Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before following the steps below. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
Referring to the screenshot above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe.
ComboFix will now run a scan on your system. It may reboot your system when it finishes. This is normal.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Copy and paste the contents of the log in your next reply.
CAUTION: Do not mouse-click ComboFix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

hey if you don't mind me asking, what is this script going to do to my "KMSEmulator.exe" and "IMVU". The reason i ask is i know what both are and the last time i ran Combofix it had a few annoying results. I'm not trying to question your methods or say that you don't know what you are doing, I'm just a person that asks a lot of questions,
never mind i went ahead and let Combofix get rid of KMSEmulator and i uninstalled Microsoft office and just switched to "open office"….. and of course it "disinfected" my explorer.exe again, just to let it be known, its wasn't infected lol , i edited the file myself and inserted a custom start button [external image: Posted Image]
^made it myself i think it looks rather nice lol^
but any way here is the log, i know you said "copy paste" but it was too long so I'm just going to attach the log
I should let you know about ComboFix. It is a very powerful tool and if used incorrectly can turn your system into a rather fancy doorstep. Please only use it with the guidance of a trained malware remover.
