1:- guess sarah, haven't looked for logic yet. 2:- mate,mace,lace,lane,mane.

ok going to go with the simple logic of the 2rd from last letter in both the fathers and mothers names is always the same so must be the same in their childs. r is derek's and carol's letter therefore their child must be named sarah, like my first guess.

Well done terry1966! Both responses are correct. My logic for #2 was that the third letter of each name in the "family" is the same… but your logic works out the same way.
