Update for BIND DNS server
- http://atlas.arbor.net/briefs/index#5039310
Severity: Extreme Severity
June 06, 2012
A critical issue that could cause a BIND server to crash has been patched. No workarounds are currently available, therefore patch must be deployed.
Analysis: Security flaws in BIND that lead to compromise or to denial of service should be patched ASAP due to the critical nature of the service. Thankfully, there are many safeguards in the BIND code that make it less likely that an attacker will find a remote code execution flaw. An availability flaw in BIND can be very dangerous if known to attackers.
