because tomk thought they would be good for a puzzle?
the only thing i can come up with is they make a descending number ladder of 3 less letters in each group, that is the first group total 22 letters, the next group totals 19, and the last 16, so if you had a forth group of words whatever they were, there would be 13 letters in it.
this "commonality" isn't an aussie thing is it tomk?
now why'd i think you were from down under?
and i meant that the "commonality" was only something a local would know, for example they were all known words(or words used in conjunction with another) would mean a type of food or animal, but someone from elsewhere wouldn't make the association.
this one's got me beat.
i'm going to guess they are all nouns.
Well… maybe I should try to explain what I mean by "commonality".
Each and every word in the group contains the same attribute:
Stupid, first - adjective
Laughing, Hijack - verb
Crabcake, Calmness, Afhgan, Canopy - noun
Deft - adverb
Crabcake, Calmness, Canopy - Each start with C
Laughing, Crabcake, Calmness, Afhgan, Canopy, Hijack - each contain an A
Stupid, Hijack, Calmness, Afhgan - Each have two vowels.
First, Calmness, Afhgan - each have a series of three consonants.
First, Deft - Each consecutive letter comes later in the alphabet.
Obviously, none of the above attributes are correct… but it's something like that.
I thought that one was really tough
The "Think Spring" cake is apt. There is so much rain here right now it does'nt feel like spring at all.
Everybody help themselves to cake
(@Terry… I told you you'd kick yourself when you saw it cool.gif )
i am now, that cake looks scrumptious.
i hate word puzzles, i always get a mental block when i look at them, i think it's a subconscious thing because i know english is one of my many weak arrears.
