WPS security flaw

Hello I use WPS but my son pointed out that it know is considered to be a security flaw by some. I Googled it and there were articles as late as 2012 that confirm this thinking. I have my router's WPS enabled but am consideringng disabling it. Has anyone heard anything of this issue?

if i remember correctly having it disabled doesn't fix the problem, only a firmware update fixes the problem.

What is WPS?
