Whenever my computer is idle my computer starts running up memory. When it first started happening, I started deleting files and programs, but then I noticed that it did not make a difference. My computer won't let me delete the "Ping.exe" process that keeps popping up nor will it let me end it. It just goes away at will and returns at will. It is driving my crazy. My virus protection (Micro Trend) does not pick it up. What can I do?

as long as your security programs are disabled, you should be fine. Will the programs not run in normal mode? If they wont run normally, then safe mode is fine.
run rkill first

and try booting into safemode with networking and running the program there

Please download and run the following tool to help allow other programs to run. (courtesy of BleepingComputer.com)
There are 4 different versions. If one of them won't run then download and try to run the other one.
Vista and Win7 users need to right click and choose Run as Admin
You only need to get one of them to run, not all of them.
