My computer is really slow and I use it for a wireless network but I keep getting knocked off the net on the other computers. It's extremely slow and I see about:blank almost everytime I go to a new web page. I use McAfee from AT&T. I read the instructions to post and here's what I have. Thanks for the help in advance.

Here's the results from the scan, I used Trend Micro.

  • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
  • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
  • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post it with your next reply.
  • You may need two posts to fit them both in.

Thanks for your help and sorry it took me a while to get back to you. I did everything you said, when I ran the OTL tool it stopped when it got to scanning modules and didn't provide a log. I ran it three times and it just stopped everytime at scanning modules. I ran aswMBR, it stopped after 20 minutes or so and here's the log. aswMBR version 0.9.8.986 Copyright© 2011 AVAST Software Run date: 2011-11-24 06:32:16 —————————– 06:32:16.023 OS Version: Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 06:32:16.023 Number of processors: 2 586 0x403 06:32:16.023 ComputerName: D81GM191 UserName: rob 06:32:17.289 Initialize success 06:35:00.635 AVAST engine defs: 11112302 06:36:03.682 Disk 0 (boot) \Device\Harddisk0\DR0 -> \Device\Ide\IdeDeviceP1T0L0-e 06:36:03.698 Disk 0 Vendor: ST3160828AS 8.03 Size: 152587MB BusType: 3 06:36:03.807 Disk 0 MBR read successfully 06:36:03.807 Disk 0 MBR scan 06:36:03.839 Disk 0 unknown MBR code 06:36:03.870 Disk 0 scanning sectors +312496380 06:36:03.932 Disk 0 scanning C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers 06:36:16.354 Service scanning 06:36:17.901 Modules scanning 06:36:23.542 Disk 0 trace - called modules: 06:36:23.558 ntkrnlpa.exe CLASSPNP.SYS disk.sys atapi.sys hal.dll pciide.sys PCIIDEX.SYS 06:36:23.573 1 nt!IofCallDriver -> \Device\Harddisk0\DR0[0x87597ab8] 06:36:23.573 3 CLASSPNP.SYS[f75befd7] -> nt!IofCallDriver -> \Device\Ide\IdeDeviceP1T0L0-e[0x87570b00] 06:36:24.151 AVAST engine scan C:\WINDOWS 06:36:46.792 AVAST engine scan C:\WINDOWS\system32 06:39:15.060 AVAST engine scan C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers 06:39:33.169 AVAST engine scan C:\Documents and Settings\rob 06:55:39.003 AVAST engine scan C:\Documents and Settings\All Users 07:15:26.605 Disk 0 MBR has been saved successfully to "C:\Documents and Settings\rob\Desktop\MBR.dat" 07:15:26.699 The log file has been saved successfully to "C:\Documents and Settings\rob\Desktop\aswMBR.txt"

Hi Robnms and Happy Thanksgiving.

The log you posted is from the aswMBR scan. Were you able to run a scan with OTL? When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt.

Note: These logs can be located in the OTL. folder on you C:\ drive if they fail to open automatically.
Please post the OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt logs.
