My name is patndoris. I will be glad to take a look at your log and help you with solving any malware problems. It will be very helpful if you follow these guidelines:
Malware logs are often lengthy and can take a lot of time to research and interpret. Please be patient while I review your logs.
Please note that there is no "Quick Fix" to modern malware infections and we may need to use several different approaches to get your system clean.
Please make sure to carefully read any instruction that I give you. If you're not sure, or if something unexpected happens, do NOT continue! Stop and ask!
Please follow my instructions carefully and in the order they are posted. You may also find it helpful to print out the instructions you receive.
Please do not run any scans or install/uninstall any applications or delete anything without being directed to do so.
Remember, absence of symptoms does not mean the infection is all gone. Please stick with me till you're given the "all clear".
Please do not use the Attachment feature for any log file. Do a Copy/Paste of the entire contents of the log file and submit it inside your post.
Please reply within 3 days. If I do not hear back from you in that time frame, I will post a reminder for you. Topics with no reply in 4 days are closed!
You definitely have an infection on the machine based on the file name you have described. It can be a bit difficult to remove, and I need to see some scan results to ensure that we get all the components of it. In these cases, it takes several different tools just to narrow down the files that need to be removed. Please be patient as this infection can be stubborn.
Download and Run DDS by sUBs

Download and Run GMER
[external image: Posted Image]
Download GMER Rootkit Scanner from here or here.
Extract the contents of the zipped file to desktop.
Right-click and choose Run as Administrator on GMER.exe. If asked to allow gmer.sys driver to load, please consent .
If it gives you a warning about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run scan…click on NO.
In the right panel, you will see several boxes that may have been checked. Uncheck the following …
IAT/EAT
Drives/Partition other than Systemdrive (typically C:\)
Show All (don't miss this one - make sure it is UNCHECKED)
Then click the Scan button & wait for it to finish.
Once done click on the [Save..] button, and in the File name area, type in "Gmer.txt" or it will save as a .log file which cannot be uploaded to your post.
Save it where you can easily find it, such as your desktop, and attach it in your reply.
**Caution**
Rootkit scans often produce false positives. Do NOT take any action on any "<— ROOKIT" entries
Please read carefully and follow these steps. There is a difference between what you see in one of the images below and what I need you to do.
We are only creating a log - I do NOT want you to "cure" or try to fix anything in this step. It is very important that you don't choose Cure when presented with that option.
If no reboot is require, click on Report. A log file should appear. Please copy and paste the contents of that file here.
If a reboot is required, the report can also be found in your root directory, (usually C:\ folder) in the form of "TDSSKiller.[Version]_[Date]_[Time]_log.txt". Please copy and paste the contents of that file here.
You may find that some or all of these tools are blocked from running in normal mode due to the infection. Please attempt to run them and let me know how it goes. I would prefer to run them in normal mode, but if you can't then please try in safe mode.
Download ComboFix from one of the following locations: Link 1 Link 2
VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop
* IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here
Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply. Notes:
1. Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
2. Do not "re-run" Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.
Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now
My combofix isn't running correctly. It loads then says something about denied administrator. Then goes through to the scan and sits there for hours at the 10min screen. I believe ComboFix has been compromised somehow. I need a work around for ComboFix. Thank you.
Please delete the copy of Combofix from your desktop and re-download a fresh copy from the previous link, but do not run it yet.
Please reboot into safe mode and then try running Combofix. Let me know if that helps. If all goes well please post the resulting log.
Still can't run combofix in safe mode or normal. just sits at the blue 10min screen. Is there a specific process to deleting combofix.exe . there are folders and remnants in C:.
yeah i think we were typing at the same time. Okay so I download the new version. How do I remove the one thats on my C: completely..I think thats part of the problem. The malware at some point is compromising the combofix. Combofix opens up a "recycle bin is corrupted" notice everytime right before the combofix restore point is made. I have to click okay or cancel to get it to go into the creating restore point. I click cancel and the red load bars start moving. I think at this point is where the malware is making combofix not work.
We don't want to uninstall Combofix at this point, because it will leave us with no old restore points upon which we can roll back. Since the system is still infected, that's not a viable option just yet. If you can sit tight for a few minutes I need to check on a possible solution. I'll be back to you just as soon as I have instructions for you.
Please don't worry about the fact that Combofix is on your C: drive at the moment. I'd like you to delete the copy that you have on your desktop please (just right-click and choose delete).
Download Combofix from any of the links below but rename it to svchost.exe before saving it to your desktop.
Link 1 Link 2
——————————————————————–
Be sure you are in safe mode and then double click on the renamed ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a report for you.
Please post the C:\ComboFix.txt so we can continue cleaning the system.
