Hello, I have been directed through to this website after looking for solutions on how to remove "www.searchqu.com 406" Fortunately I found this site before using either Combofix and Hijackthis. I have however used Malwarebytes and found a registry entry that looks suspicious Registry Keys Infected: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\IExplore.exe (Backdoor.Bifrose) -> No action taken. As I wasn't sure on how to proceed with this, I then found and registered with this site, before downloading and using OTL Should I now copy and paste the results of the OTL scan to this thread? Any help would be gratefully received Thank you

- IAT/EAT
- Drives/Partition other than Systemdrive (typically C:\)
- Show All (don't miss this one)
Then click the Scan button & wait for it to finish.
Once done click on the [Save..] button, and in the File name area, type in "Gmer.txt" or it will save as a .log file which cannot be uploaded to your post.
Save it where you can easily find it, such as your desktop, and attach it in your reply.

**Caution**
Rootkit scans often produce false positives. Do NOT take any action on any "<— ROOKIT" entries

Ok so I have run the Gmer scan, or at least have tried too… On the first occasion, midway through the scan i received a notice say that the program (Gmer) had crashed. I decided to try it again On the second occasion, again a few minutes after the scan had started, i had a whole system crash. My screen went blue and the text read something along the lines of: 'Your system is being shutdown/restarted to prevent a system crash' etc etc (it happened relatively quickly so I didn't read all of the info) My laptop then restarted giving me the option to start windows in safe mode (rather like a system restore) I chose to restart windows normally and everything seemed to reboot as normal I then started a third Gmer scan (at around 6.30pm) but the scan still seemed to be going three hours later? I then stopped the scan and saved it (as you'd asked me too e.g Gmer.txt) I have added it to this reply, I just hope that you can make some sense of it? Many thanks

Hi there,

BSOD does happen on some computers when running GMER. But normally we will have users uncheck a few boxes to prevent similar thing happen again.

Here's what I need you to do now.

Please read carefully and follow these steps.

Download TDSSKiller and save it to your Desktop.
Extract its contents to your desktop.
Once extracted, open the TDSSKiller folder and doubleclick on TDSSKiller.exe to run the application, then on Start Scan.

The TDSSKiller did not find any infected files. I could not find a log for this

I just need to add, that the Family Cyber Alert program, is continuously popping up. This happens even though I continuously click on cancel. For some reason and probably because of the above program (F.C.A) repeatedly popping up, I am not able to gain access to my documents/Control panel etc by clicking on the start button (Windows button bottom left)

In the notepad

Click File, Save as…, and set the Save in to your Desktop
In the filename box, type (including quotation marks) as the filename: "CFScript.txt"
Click save

Using your mouse left button, drag the new file CFscript.txt and drop it on the ComboFix.exe icon as shown below.

This will start ComboFix again.Close all browser/windows first.
