Hi :D

You need to move Hijackthis to its own forlder C:\Hjt for example. This will allow for backups, as it is in a temp folder the backups may get lost.

Please boot to safe mode (tap f8 while bios loads)

Then go to task manager (Ctrl/Alt/Del) and click on the Process tab. If this file is running end process on it.

svxhost.exe be careful not to stop process on the correct file which is svchost.exe notice the bad file has the X in it.

Then run Hiajckthis, still in safe mode, and put a check beside these lines and choose FIX.

Do you an Acer machine?
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [LaunchApp] Alaunch
If you do this line is ok and should be left. If no remove it.

The 2 lines below are definatley BAD

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft-Updates] svxhost.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Microsoft-Updates] svxhost.exe

Then delete these files. You may need to see hidden files/folders http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

svxhost.exe it is extemely important that you delete this file and not the legitimate svchost.exe. Notice the bad file is svXhost.exe.

Then reboot and post a new log please.

When you reply hit "Add Reply" at the bottom right of this post please.
here is my new log

Log looks GOOD! How is your system running?

In my signature below are some tools that will help stop this from happening again. Spyguard, Spyblater and IESPYad will add 1000's of sites to your restricted zone and in some cases block hijacks. They take very little resources. I also have a tutorial on how to better secure IE that is a good read and very helpful to stop hijacks also.

Also below are links to a free Anti Virus and a free Firewall. It is essential these days to have these on your system. I can only advise as this is your computer.
