When select search links, go to bogus websites

When I run a search from the IE address bar a valid list of links is displayed in the window, but when I select one of the links, it takes me to some bogus website that has nothing to do with the listed link.
My PC is running Vista Home SP2 and is updated with the most recent updates.. I have McAfee VirusScan enterprise software running all the time, and scan every night but their scan finds nothing (it takes 8+ hours to run the scan). I am using IE 9 and have tried changing search providers to Bing, Google, Yahoo and get same results.
