You have stumbled upon a "secret" library. In this library, there are no letters showing on the book covers. Instead, the information is provided in a numerical code. You see a book with the following marked on the spline: 242 212 634 522 923 313 797 100 799 Who was the author of this book?
As I am off to bed I guess I should explain how I got that answer. lol. At first I thought maybe each individual number was representative of a certain letter, but then I thought it cant be as there would be far too many letters. So I tried a few ways of breaking it down, but the results made no sense lol, until as a complete stab in the dark, I tried adding each sequence of numbers. So this was the result………. 2+4+2=8….The eighth letter of the alphabet being H 2+1+2=5….The fifth E 6+3+4=13 ..M 5+2+2=9…….I 9+2+3=14….N 3+1+3=7……G 7+9+7=23….W 1+0+0=1…….A 7+9+9=25…..Y Hope this is correct  Goodnight Chrissy :D

Well I would say thats it.

You see a book with the following marked on the spline:

What part of the book is the spline? Is it anywhere near the spine? (I really should learn to type)

Even with the distraction of a funny word slipped in there… chrissy72 did correctly identify the book as having been written by Hemingway (I believe it is The Old Man and the Sea)

Well done chrissy72!

It's what I call the middle, backbone or how ya want to say it, not the front nor the back.

yay :woot: Thanks guys. BTW TomK, If my memory serves me right, there used to be an icypole called a "spline" when I was a kid  Since words have such different meanings here as to there, (such as here u wear a thong on ya foot  ) I didnt really take much notice spline/spine close enough lol. Chrissy :D
OMG! Butt floss!! TOO FUNNY!!! I told an American friend once that I was gunna send him a pair of aussie thongs and he totally got the wrong idea! And yes, thats exactly what an icypole is! But now I think about it, I think they were called a splime splice (had pineapple/lime flavoured icypole on the outside with vanilla icecream in the middle).
 Sorry to disappoint but I dont wear either kind of Thongs :P I was gunna say something else smart, but as this is a family orientated site, I shall leave it at that! Am I allowed to say since this topic seems to have been resolved, it has now been closed?
