For some reason Windows 7 is flagging my DVD drive as not working or not installed. It was working fine yesterday. Tried several different thing from trying to update the drive to uninstalling and reinstalling. I know the drive works because I dual boot and it works fine in the other OS. optiarc dvd rw ad-7201s6 Thanks Jeremy
Hi jeremy_smitty5,

Microsoft has published a knowledgebase article which includes a FixIt (Self-service repair) program for problems similar to what you're describing:

Please take a look at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982116 - "Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs." for more information.

Hope this helps you,

Rich
