Please Help
I have a Dell Inpiron 17 laptop
Dual Core CPU
2 gig memory
64 bit operating system
SP1
Recent performance has been very sluggish particularly during online work.
I have performed cleanups and regular antivirus checks with Superantispyware.
I have Comodo firewall and Avast antivirus.
Would appreciate any help offered.
Regards
andreas.T

Hi
I have tried to download your first two links, but blank pages keep coming up.
I have clicked the 'allow temp pop ups from this site' just in case they were blocked, but still no joy
Please advise.
My laptop very slow now…will restart it.

Hi
Sorry, same problem
message says'IE has blocked this for your safety ..click here to allow' then when I do …still brings up blank page
Can you recommend alternatives like hijackthis?
If so,,,please provide links.
Thanks
A
If you have an active internet connection, copy/paste the links below into your browser, don't click them or the rogue might redirect. If you don't have an active internet connection, download the tools from another machine, and transfer them to the affected machine via USB flash drive.
Do not reboot your computer after running rkill as the malware programs will start again.
Please download and run the following tool to help allow other programs to run. (courtesy of BleepingComputer.com)
There are 5 different versions. If one of them won't run then download and try to run the other one.
Vista and Win7 users need to right click and choose Run as Admin
You only need to get one of them to run, not all of them.
You will likely see a message from this rogue telling you the file is infected. Ignore the message. Leave the message OPEN, do not close the message. Run rkill repeatedly until it's able to do it's job. This may take a few tries. You'll be able to tell rkill has done it's job when your desktop (explorer.exe) cycles off and then on again.
At this point, you should now be able to run analysis tools.
If for some reason the machine reboots, repeat the process. Again, try not to restart the machine.
Double click DDS icon to run the tool (may take up to 3 minutes to run)
When done, DDS.txt will open.
After a few moments, attach.txt will open in a second window.
Save both reports to your desktop.
—————————————————
Post the contents of the DDS.txt report in your next reply
Attach the Attach.txt report to your post by scroling down to the Attachments area and then clicking Browse. Browse to where you saved the file, and click Open and then click UPLOAD.
Hi
Now I cant open an IE page. at all now.
message says: 'This file does not have a programm associated with it. Create an association in the set associations control panel.'
I dont know why this has suddenly happened, but its never happened before.
i did have online access before this, just couldnt open the linked pages that you originally sent to me.
Please advise on this latest setback
thnx
Did you download the tools given before this from another computer and save it into a USB drive then transfer it to the infected computer and run? Because for now we don't need to open any browser on the infected computer just yet until we get a log to diagnose and assess the condition. Was there any trouble when doing so?
Thanks
Hi
I have managed to to do a system restore to 3 days ago.
his has allowed me to bring up an IE page again.
I downloaded and ran the programs that you requested, but it only worked with the firewall and antivirus on, so I may have to try and run them again with these off if you really need it that way.
Please find below the programs:-
