Find the 5 animals in the following sentences.

  • Give the imp a large brandy.
  • Have a holiday on a German lake.
  • Watch out for he suspects you!
  • Place the saucepan the right way up.
  • Make sure that it's level and true.

Those are definitely 5 very nice animals. Do you care to explain how you arrived at them?
When I tried to look for a pattern (eg every second letter, turning words around etc) but couldnt come up with anything, I just took a stab and scrambled letters til I came up with 5 animals

Nice try. However… incorrect. :P
Haa haa haa. I was guessing it was a big WRONG! Well Im with Terry1966, this one has me stumped too. Well done TomK, you said u were going to have to make it harder, and u did.

you said u were going to have to make it harder, and u did

A little bit. But when you see the solution… you're going to kick yourself.
I predict that when someone gets one… they'll immediately get 3 or 4 of them. Some are not the most "popular" animals on the planet. (No Dog. No Cat. No Cow. No horse. No rabbit)
was having a nice sleep when i just woke up with the answer to number 1 1:- impala  now lets see if i can work out the rest. was thinking first the clues were more complicated like imp meaning fairy or demon.
lol, I had worked out number 1 3 and 4 but was lost on the other 2. Well done! Well Ive learnt somthing, Ive never heard of an onager or eland before! lol.

was thinking first the clues were more complicated like imp meaning fairy or demon.

That's why I said you guys would kick yourself when you saw the answer. No tricks. No patterns.

Well done terry1966! Those were the animals we were looking for.
Looks like it. Also known as the Wild Asian rear. A little bigger than a donkey and more horselike in structure. Like maybe half way between a donkey and a mule.
