Hi everyone. Recently my computer has been getting an increasing number of popups in IE while I am running Firefox. I scanned my computer with AVG, Spybot S&D, and Microsoft's malicious software removal tool and none of them have helped. I looked online at what my next step should be and it suggested HijackThis. I've got a log file and will post that after this post. Any help reading and interpreting this file would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Doc

DO NOT use any TOOLS such as Combofix or HijackThis fixes without supervision.

Doing so could make your pc inoperatible and could require a full reinstall of your OS, losing all your programs and data.

Vista and Windows 7 users:
1. These tools MUST be run from the executable. (.exe) every time you run them
2. With Admin Rights (Right click, choose "Run as Administrator")

Stay with this topic until I give you the all clean post.

You might want to print these instructions out.

I suggest you do this:

XP Users

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.

Click Apply, and then click OK.

My computer has had a few issues in the past with not starting up properly sometimes, but then starting up properly the next time. Sometimes it refuses to come out of hibernation mode and I have to perform a hard shut down (as awful as that is for my system). My Java has been unable to update for a couple weeks now and when trying to clear my Java cache through the control panel no Java Settings would open up when I double-clicked the icon (this is both before and after I ran the Malware software and rebooted my computer). Aside from the popups and these issues my computer hasn't given me any trouble. MBAM found nothing with another scan. My computer did pull the whole not coming out of hibernation mode again last night. I'm going to work on that Java issue right now and I'll let you know how that works out.
Any particular reason why you dislike hibernation mode? I updated Java and it seems to be working properly now. My computer has seemed a bit slower since cleaning it, but the popups are gone and its running smoothly. Thanks for all your help.

For the same issue you had. They don't like to come out of it.

You're more than welcome.
Glad we were able to help

Peace be with you :wavey:
