Do the gamevance popups occur on other browsers or just chrome? Do they only occur at certain web pages? On your sound… I've found where similiar errors occured when Itunes was uninstalled and reinstalled. You haven't done that lately have you? That error code is when Windows can't find a plug and play device. Have you tried the troubleshooter found in your device manager for the entries with the yellow icon?

tried troubleshooter havent uninstalled itunes for awhile and certaintly not when/after sound stopped working and on chrome only i beleive for gamevance not sure tho edit: its also the internet not just itunes

It's all sound - correct? And you already tried clicking on update driver in your system manger - right? For the items that are yellow, if you right click on them do you have the option to uninstall? If you do, try that and then reboot your computer. Windows should find the "new" devices and reinstall them.

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.

gamevance is still there- as for the sound i will try what you said in a minute after i finish what i am doing and id say for gamevance id probalby best uninstall chrome

i will say that txtlinks ends if i end the right chrome.exe under processes so im guessing its embedded into google chrome

ok for sound which ones do i uninstall? just realtek high definition audio?

ok it recognized it when i reinstalled but it still showed up as (code41) and said it had a problem when downloading or installing or w/e so is it just my speakers that arent working? and if i get new ones will they work?

It's not likely your speakers. When you say it recognized it when you reinstalled it… did you manually reinstall or let windows find and install it?

windows automatically reinstalled it and ive also tried the manual reinstall using their website but its still the same
