Here is a link that tells about that trojan:

http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyc…me=TROJ_BRISS.H

You may have to turn off "system restore" to cleanup that infection. There is a good tutorial on how to do that under the link "Additional ME/XP Cleaning Instructions" on the web page that tells about the trojan.

One thing I should mention is that when you turn "system restore" off, then back on again, you lose all previous restore points and begin building new ones.

I would suggest to try the scan from Trend-Micro (the link provided below). If it tells you that you still have the infection but it cannot remove it, then turn off "system restore", run the virus scan from Trend-Micro again, reboot, then turn "system restore" back on to run the other scans.

Please try these 3 online virus scan/removal tools:

Trend-Micro:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp

Panda:
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/co…n_principal.htm

Etrust:
http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/virusinfo/scan.aspx

Let the programs remove any infections found. Reboot after each scan.

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS (even this one) AND PROGRAMS!!!

Next, run Hijack This!, and fix these items:

Reboot and post a new log file. :)
Okay I have ran the trend micro - nothing found with the restores on or off

I ran the panda 2 things found but I do not think they were to do with the trojan briss.H

I tried to run the Etrust a few times but it would not work for me.

I ran adware it found quite a few things so got rid of those.

This morning my AVG resident shield still said I had the briss.H trojan so I ran all of these again.

I am not sure if I still have it or not as the AVG only pops up once in a while.

I fixed all the things suggested in the email above. and here is my new highjack log.

Does anything else look wrong??

Thanks for all the help

Tina

The log file looks clean. The only other help I can offer is if you get the pop-up about the trojan again, does it tell you specifically which file is infected? If it tells you name(s) of the infected file(s), post back again, and I'll see what I can do to help get rid of them, or clean them (which ever is applicable). :)
