A police officers stops a vehicle on the street for a missing tail light. As he approaches the vehicle, he notices that there is a RAT behind the wheel! After jumping back a few paces initially in shock, the officer proceeds to the car window, asking for the license and registration for the car. The driver gives a smile, takes his hand off the wheel, and holds out the requested items. The officer then says: 'Uhm… you have a big piece of cheese stuck between your front teeth?' The driver says nothing, but has his eyes focused on the officer as he tries to close his mouth over his huge front teeth. After checking the documents and issuing a verbal warning for the taillight, the officer returns the documents, and the driver is released to continue on his way. Even though the driver wasn't a man dressed in a rat costume (in case that's what you were thinking), the officer did not make a big deal about actually seeing a rat behind the wheel of the car! Why not?
The RAT was behind the wheel (laying on the pavement behind a tire) not uncommon roadkill. As to the Driver with cheese between the front teeth… there is no law against ugly, though there should be one against gross and vulgar.
Well done Doug! The rat was, in fact, behind the wheel with a tire on it…. not the steering wheel. To the best of my knowledge, there was no connection between the big toothed, cheese eating driver… and the aforementioned roadkill - other than their proximity to each other at the time of this occurrence.
