Help with Hijack.FolderOptions?
16 min read
Yes that's the file. It will show everything that SFC /SCANNOW did or wasn't able to do.
If you want to see what files it couldn't repair we can do this. This will create a smaller log.
- Click your start button > All Programs > Accessories
- then right click on Command Prompt and click on Run as administrator
- In the elevated command prompt, copy and paste the bolded line
findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt
- Hit enter.
Your logs look fine. We can clean up the tools after you post back.
It tells me FINDSTR: Cannot open Pinto\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt
and nothing happens…
Any other ideas?
Thanks for your patience.
I finally got through that log. The only reference to not being able to repair a file was in the case of files being in use and a reboot was required.
It would seem the tool was finally successful.Unable to complete Verify and Repair transaction because some of the files that need to be repaired are in use. A reboot is required to complete this operation.

Some Recommendations and prevention tips
Basic security consists of 1 antivirus program, 1 resident antispyware program, 1 on demand antispyware program and a firewall.

Take care
Let's try this first.
Click start
a. Type gpedit.msc in the Startmenu Searchbox and press Enter. It'll open Group Policy Editor.
b. Now navigate to:
c. Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> System Restore
d. In right-side pane, make sure both "Turn off Configuration" and "Turn off System Restore" options are set to "Not Configured". If one or both of them is set to "Enabled", double-click on the option and set its value to "Not Configured".
Is System restore accessable now?
