Have run advanced system care to check over computer as our website was hacked and I want to make sure I don't have any vulnerabilities on my computer. When computer is all clear, I will change ftp passwords etc but have been told it is useless to do this until the system is given the all clear. Below is the hijack this log.
Many, many thanks to any one who has the time to pass their eyes over it :-)

Hello csryan and welcome to WTT forum.

My name is Satchfan and I would be glad to help you with your computer problem. Please read the following guidelines which will help to make cleaning your machine easier:
• Please do not install/uninstall any programs unless asked to.
• Please do not run any scans other than those requested
• Please follow all instructions in the order posted
• Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine appears to be clean. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
• If you don't understand something, please don't hesitate to ask for clarification before proceeding
• The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine.
• Please reply within 3 days. If you do not reply within this period I will post a reminder but topics with no reply in 4 days will be closed!
Please note that I am still in training and my replies need to be checked by an expert in order for you to receive the best possible advice. This may result in a small delay between my posts but I shall try to keep this to a minimum.

I am looking through your log now and will reply as soon as possible.

Satchfan
Hello again csryan

Your log doesn’t show any signs of infection but as this is not a very in-depth scan, I’d like you to run a couple more.

Before this though, I’d like to bring a couple of things to your attention:

First:

You have old versions of Java on your machine:

Old versions leave your computer vulnerable to infections, so please remove all versions of Java or JRE environment except Version 6 Update 20
1. From the Start menu, select Control Panel.
2. In Classic View, double-click Programs and Features. In Control Panel Home view, under "Programs", click Uninstall a program.
3. Select the version you want to remove, and click Uninstall. Alternatively, right-click the program and select Uninstall.

Second:

Please check the following links regarding IObit. It is has been proved to be untrustworthy in its programming and is pretty ineffective now that it can no longer be propped up by MBAM

See:

OK, let’s run a couple of extra scans.

Run OTL

  • Download OTL to your desktop.
  • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
  • When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.
  • Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.
  • Under Custom Scan paste this in:

    netsvcs
    %SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.exe
    /md5start
    eventlog.dll
    scecli.dll
    netlogon.dll
    cngaudit.dll
    sceclt.dll
    ntelogon.dll
    logevent.dll
    iaStor.sys
    nvstor.sys
    atapi.sys
    IdeChnDr.sys
    viasraid.sys
    AGP440.sys
    vaxscsi.sys
    nvatabus.sys
    viamraid.sys
    nvata.sys
    nvgts.sys
    iastorv.sys
    ViPrt.sys
    eNetHook.dll
    ahcix86.sys
    KR10N.sys
    nvstor32.sys
    ahcix86s.sys
    nvrd32.sys
    symmpi.sys
    adp3132.sys
    mv61xx.sys
    nvraid.sys
    /md5stop
    %systemroot%\*. /mp /s
    %systemroot%\system32\*.dll /lockedfiles
    %systemroot%\Tasks\*.job /lockedfiles
    %systemroot%\system32\drivers\*.sys /lockedfiles
    %systemroot%\System32\config\*.sav
    %systemroot%\system32\drivers\*.sys /90
    CREATERESTOREPOINT
  • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
  • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
  • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post it with your next reply.
  • You may need two posts to fit them both in.

Download the GMER Rootkit Scanner

[external image: Posted Image]
Download GMER Rootkit Scanner from here or here.
  • Extract the contents of the zipped file to desktop.
  • Double click GMER.exe. If asked to allow gmer.sys driver to load, please consent.
  • If it gives you a warning about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run scan…click on NO.

    [external image: Posted Image]
Click the image to enlarge it
  • In the right panel, you will see several boxes that have been checked. Uncheck the following …
    • IAT/EAT
    • All drives/partitions except C:\)
    • Show All (don't miss this one)
  • Then click the Scan button & wait for it to finish.
  • Once done click on the [Save..] button, and in the File name area, type in "Gmer.txt" or it will save as a .log file which cannot be uploaded to your post.
  • Save it where you can easily find it, such as your desktop, and attach it in your reply.
**Caution**
Rootkit scans often produce false positives. Do NOT take any action on any "<— ROOKIT" entries

Logs to include with next post:

OTL.txt
Extras.txt
Gmer.txt

Could you also let me know if there are any symptoms of infection or change in your computer’s performance.

Thanks

Satchfan
Thanks in advance for your assistance satchfan.
I have removed all Java / JRE programs except Ver 6 update 20.
What exactly is IOBit and how do I get rid of it. It's not in my uninstall program list.
Ran OTL. See txt reports below.
Downloaded GMER and ran 4 times without success.
First time it froze while doing the scan and I could not even get task manager to show up on screen and had to manaually hold start button down to shut down computer. The second time I ran it, it got further through the process and a handful of listings started to appear in window while it was scanning, but then it froze and to restart as before. Third time and fourth time, the computer shut itself down in the middle of the scan and then restarted so I thought it best to give up on this scan until I heard from you.
You asked about symptoms of infection or change in performance. All I can think of is that our website has been hacked and a folder of malware left on site. Our website developer suggessted that our computer might be infected and someone has taken passowrds from our computer and used them to access our website. For some time now the computer seems to take a very very long time to shut down, up to 5 minutes. It sometimes flashes up with a warning saying something along the lines of programs are still running. ccc.exe comes up and another one too, but I cam't remember what. Computer still shuts down anyway. Also, for last few weeks, ethernet port on computer seems to be playing up. Sometimes it recognises it's plugged in, other times not. Can start up computer and have no internet and it's the ethernet cable light that's not on (have tried two different cables) and then 10 minutes or several hours later it will just start working without me having done anything. Have new wireless modem on order as ISP said it was a problem with the ethernet port on laptop.

Hello csryan

Sorry about the delay but I have had intermittent problems getting online.

I can see no signs of infection in your log, just some things that need tidying up. I’d still like to get a rootkit scan just to be sure.

P2P - I see you have P2P software, (Limewire), installed on your machine. We are not here to pass judgment on file-sharing as a concept. However, we will warn you that engaging in this activity and having this kind of software installed on your machine will always make you more susceptible to infection. If your computer is infected, it likely contributed to your current situation.

This page will give you further information.

Please note: Even if you are using a "safe" P2P program, it is only the program that is safe. You will be sharing files from uncertified sources, and these are often infected. The bad guys use P2P file-sharing as a major conduit to spread their wares.

Please see this topic for more information:

Perils of P2P File Sharing.

I would strongly recommend that you uninstall it now. You can do so via Control Panel >> Add or Remove Programs.

Should you decide to keep it, please don’t use it until we have finished up here.

Run an on-line scan with Kaspersky

**Vista users - right click on the IE icon and run as administrator

Using Internet Explorer or Firefox, visit Kaspersky On-line Scanner

1. Click Accept, when prompted to download and install the program files and database of malware definitions.
2. To optimize scanning time and produce a more sensible report for review:
  • Close any open programs
  • Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan
3. Click Run at the Security prompt.
The program will then begin downloading and installing and will also update the database.
Please be patient as this can take several minutes.
  • Once the update is complete, click on My Computer under the green Scan bar to the left to start the scan.
  • Once the scan is complete, it will display if your system has been infected. It does not provide an option to clean/disinfect. We only require a report from it.
  • Do NOT be alarmed by what you see in the report. Many of the finds have likely been quarantined.
  • Click View scan report at the bottom.

    [external image: Posted Image]
  • Click the Save as Text button to save the file to your desktop so that you may post it in your next reply

Inyour reply please include the following logs:

Hi csryan

Your logs are clean. We can clear your java cache which will finish cleaning up the Kaspersky entry. I’d also like you to run one more scan to tidy up any loose ends.

Clear all your temporary files

Download ATF Cleaner
• Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe (on your desktop) to run the program.
• Under Main choose: Select All
• Click the Empty Selected button.
If you use Firefox browser
• Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
• Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

If you use Opera browser
• Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
• Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

For Technical Support, double-click the e-mail address located at the bottom of each menu

Download and run Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
• Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
• At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish..
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
• Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
• Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
• When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to restart your computer. (see Note below)
• The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
• Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply and exit MBAM.
NOTE: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.

Please post back with the results of the Malwarebytes scan.

Wow. Came back all clear. See log below. Also forgot to mention that I uninstalled limewire. Hadn't actually used it for over a year anyway. Hello csryan

I uninstalled limewire

Good move.

You computer appears to be clean so we need to tidy up a bit.

You can delete the GMER logs and programs from your desktop

===================================================

Uninstall OTL
• Double-click OTL.exe
• Click the CleanUp! button.
• Select Yes when the Begin cleanup Process? prompt appears.
• If you are prompted to reboot during the cleanup, select Yes.
• The tool will delete itself once it finishes, if not delete it by yourself.
NOTE: If you receive a warning from your firewall or other security programs regarding OTL attempting to contact the internet, please allow it to do so.

A FEW RECOMMENDATIONS TO KEEP YOU FREE FROM INFECTIONS:

Update your antivirus

Your version of AVG is not the current one. AVG 9 is now available here.

Download the current version and then uninstall AVG 8 before installing the new version.

===================================================

Update Java

Although Java update 20 was current when we began, update 21 is now available.

Download the latest version Here save it, do not install it yet.

Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE)JRE 6 Update 21 <–The wording is confusing but this is what you need:
  • Go to your Add Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall any previous versions of Java
  • Reboot your computer
  • Install the latest version
You can verify the installation Here

===================================================

Recommended programs

Although Spybot Search & Destroy was a good program, it is not robust enough to deal with today’s intruders and infections. I suggest you replace it with the following free program:

SpywareBlaster. SpywareBlaster blocks over 11,000 bad guys and sites and uses zero resources of your computer.

Update and run Malwarebytes. This really is an excellent program that you should update and run on a regular basis, probably weekly.

You can never update too often and your computer will not be protected from new malware if your programs are not up-to-date.

===================================================

I also recommend that you read the following:

"How to prevent malware" by miekiemoes

===================================================

in your opinion , do you think my website was hacked via my computer or not

To be honest I don’t know the answer to this.

It is probably best to pop over to our Networking forum here and start a new topic.

Safe computing
