They are all the size, so I don't think it would do any good copy one to the other.
Should I try and if so which one do I move? Do i back them up?
Do you have your windows OS CD?
If so we can try this:
You can use windows sfc (system file checker) You'd need your XP CD to make this work.
Click Start> Run> type sfc /scannow Note the space.
(Note that there is a space between sfc and /scannow)
We can try this"
Open Notepad and copy/paste the entire contents of the quotebox below into Notepad:
@echo off
copy C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$\taskmgr.exe c:\taskmgr.exe
copy c:\taskmgr.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\taskmgr.exe
quit
Save this Notepad file as
replace.bat and choose to Save as type: - All Files then close the Notepad file.
It should look like this:

Double-click on
replace.bat to run it. A DOS window will open and close again, this is normal. Please delete the file afterwards.
If I had my OS CD I would have reinstalled by now
I left the disc in Sweden when I moved to Norway.
Done but sadly no difference on the Task manager.
I don't know what else to try.
