Removal instructions for Spyware Cleaner 2010, a fake / rogue anti-spyware

Spyware Cleaner 2010 is a fake / rogue anti-spyware program.


I suggest you print this out before stating the removal.

First:

Start Task Manager
To start Task Manager, take any of the following actions:
Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and then click Task Manager.
Press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC.

End the process, if listed, for:
SpywareCleaner.exe
unins000.exe


Next:
Launch Notepad (Start>All Programs>Accessories), and copy/paste all the Quoted REGEDIT below to it. Don't forget to include REGEDIT4.
Save in: Desktop
File Name: fixme.reg
Save as Type: All files
Click: Save

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
“Spyware Cleaner 2010"=-
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{0D87E4C9-67E9-4AAD-96E6-D70B3F15F8A3}_is1]


On the desktop, doubleclick fix.reg and allow it to run. Let it merge.


Next:
1.Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
2.Next, open Add/Remove Programs and remove if listed:
Spyware Cleaner 2010
rnsafe


Next:

Find and Delete These Files if listed:
C:\Program Files\rnsafe\SpywareCleaner.exe
C:\Program Files\rnsafe\RnScan.exe

Delete this Folder if listed:
C:\Program Files\Spyware Cleaner 2010
C:\Program Files\rnsafe


Reboot and the infection should be removed.
