Old Man This just started happening. When I use Yahoo email, I click on a certain email and it shows blue like I selected it but does not go to the email when I click on the email. I also tried to delete some emails by checking them. It takes about a second for the check to actualy appear in the box.. I also had an email folder in yahoo. I clicked on the folder to open it 3 different times. 3 differenmt times, a different folder than the one I clicked opened up. The computer is running a little slower now also. Thanks GB
Hi gbsk,

Attatch the text file to your next post please.

To attach a file, do the following:
  • Under the reply panel is the Attachments Panel
  • Browse for the attachment file you want to upload, then click the green Upload button
  • Once it has uploaded, click the Manage Current Attachments drop down box
  • Click on [external image: Posted Image] to insert the attachment into your post

We'll try resetting your router.

  • This can be done by inserting something tiny like a paper clip end or pencil tip into a small hole labeled "reset" located on the back of the router.
  • Press and hold down the small button inside until the lights on the front of the router blink off and then on again (usually about 10 seconds).
  • If you don’t know the router's default password, you can look it up. HERE
  • You also need to reconfigure any security settings you had in place prior to the reset.
  • You may also need to consult with your Internet service provider to find out which DNS servers your network should be using.

More information on Belkin routers can be found here

Next
  • Double click on OTL.exe to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
  • When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Standard Output
  • UNCheck the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.
  • In the Services section, change it to All
  • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
Only an OTL.txt will be produced this time.

Please post back with
  • OTL.txt
  • text file (attached)
Thanks
Old Man I rest the Belkin. The reset button was on the underneath in front part of Belkin. I could not connect to internet. The DNS site you gave me, I could not find any password there. After a half hour I called the ISP and they said to disconnect power cord for 39 seconds. Then I could connect to the net. The OTL log is attached. Thanks GB πŸ“ŽOTL.Txt
Hi gbsk,

Good job resetting the router. Do the problems still persist?

Are you experiencing any problems with any other computer connected to the same router? Can you access your Yahoo account without ant problems from a different computer?

Please attatch the unknown text file c:\program files\rwbpg.txt

Thanks
Old Man It seems like the computer is working like it did before I reset the router and ran OTL. I still get popups and redirections occasionally. Also the computer seems to be runnng slow. Right now I am typing and the letters take about 5 seconds before they actually appear on this email. Thanks GB
Hi

If you have any other computers attached to the router are you experiencing any problems with them?

Let's see if something came aboard. You have GMER, please run another scan. Set it up as below.

Double click on GMER to open it
  • In the right panel, you will see several boxes that have been checked. Uncheck the following …
    • IAT/EAT
    • Drives/Partition other than Systemdrive (typically C:\)
    • Show All (don't miss this one)
  • Then click the Scan button & wait for it to finish.
  • Once done click on the [Save..] button, and in the File name area, type in "Gmer.txt" or it will save as a .log file which cannot be uploaded to your post.
  • Save it where you can easily find it, such as your desktop, and post it in your next reply.

**Caution**
Rootkit scans often produce false positives. Do NOT take any action on any "<β€” ROOKIT" entries

If GMER will not run in normal windows, please run it in Saffe Mode

Thanks
Old Man I tried to run Gmer in Safe Mode. However, I could not save it. The lettering in Safe Mode is too big and I cannot see the whole face of Gmer or other programs. I could barely get to the button to scan it. There was only 1/8" showing even when I moved the program up on the screen. I'll try to run it in normal mode. I think that is what I did before. GB
Old man I rarely use either AIE or Firefox. I have both on my computer however. I mostly use Opera. The redirects have not been happening the last couple of days. However, mostly what happens now is I cannot open some links by just pressing them or they take a very long time to open. They usually will open if I right click and then open in another window. Also, I cannot get some sites that use java like nbc.com. Thanks for helping. GB
