Hey everyone,

Sorry if I'm doing this horribly, horribly wrong, first time I've been here. I recently have had my WoW account hacked twice. The first time I was hacked I cleared up anything that showed up on my multiple spyware/antivirus programs (IObits, Malawarebytes, and Spybot S&D) and got my WoW account restored. It was not two days later that I had my WoW account hacked again. I never fall for the scams that are prevalent with WoW (don't by gold, go to fake websites, give out account info) but someone keeps getting my passwords. Here is my Hijack This Log (I hope I posted this right). Thank you all for your patience and help.

EDIT: Also, when I run Malawarebytes I continuously get a rootkit.agent infection that "will be deleted on restart" that is never cleaned, and always the same file/folder. Not sure if that is pertinent to my situation or not. The location is C:\Windows\System32\drivers\sbaph.sys .

Hello rcs5024 and :welcome:

My name is JonTom.

  • Malware Logs can sometimes take a lot of time to research and interpret.
  • Please be patient while I try to assist with your problem. If at any time you do not understand what is required, please ask for further explanation.
  • Please note that there is no "Quick Fix" to modern malware infections and we may need to use several different approaches to get your system clean.
  • Read every reply you receive carefully and thoroughly before carrying out the instructions. You may also find it helpful to print out the instructions you receive, as in some instances you may have to disconnect your computer from the Internet.
  • PLEASE NOTE: If you do not reply after 5 days your thread will be closed.

  • Please be aware that I am still in training, and all of my replies to you will be checked for accuracy by one of our experts to ensure that I am giving you the best possible advice.
  • This may cause a delay in response time, but I will do my best to keep it as short as possible.
  • I will reply back shortly with instructions.
Hello JonTom, Thank you for replying to my message and agreeing to work with me to solve any problems I have with my computer. I truly appreciate it, and good luck on the rest of your training :D

    • Note: These logs can be located in the OTL. folder on you C:\ drive if they fail to open automatically.
    • Please Copy and Paste the contents of both files in your next reply. You may need two posts to fit them both in.

  • Then click the Scan button & wait for it to finish.
  • Once done click on the [Save..] button, and in the File name area, type in "Gmer.txt" or it will save as a .log file which cannot be uploaded to your post.
  • Save it where you can easily find it, such as your desktop, and attach it in your reply.

**Caution**
Rootkit scans often produce false positives. Do NOT take any action on any "<— ROOKIT" entries

In your next reply please post the OTL logs and the GMER log.
Hello rcs5024

I alerted the fine folks over at bleeping computer.

Thank you for the logs.

Please work your way through the following steps. If you encounter any problems come back and let me know.

  • Please disable Spybot Teatimer

    • Launch Spybot S&D, go to the Mode menu and make sure "Advanced Mode" is selected.
    • On the left hand side, click "Tools", then click on the "Resident" icon in the list.
    • Uncheck the "Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of overall system settings) active" box.
    • Click the "System Startup" icon in the List.
    • Uncheck the "TeaTimer" box and "OK" any prompts.
    • If Teatimer gives you a warning that changes were made, click the "Allow Change" box when prompted.
    • Exit Spybot S&D when done.

  • Download Combofix and RE-NAME it BEFORE saving

    • Download Combofix from either of the links below. You must rename it to rcsscan.exe before saving it.
    • Save it to your desktop. Change the "save as file type" to "all files".
    • Note: In the event you already have Combofix, delete it, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved and renamed following this process directly to your desktop.

    • If you are using Firefox, make sure that your download settings are as follows:
    • Tools->Options->Main tab
    • Set to "Always ask me where to Save the files".

    Link 1
    Link 2

    • Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
    • Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.

    • Right click on the renamed ComboFix.exe and chose "Run as administrator".
    • Follow the prompts.
    • When finished, it will produce a report for you.
    • Please post the C:\ComboFix.txt so we can continue cleaning the system.
Hello, I ran combofix under the name rcsscan and have the log. However, after running the scan I am unable to open Mozilla or IE, getting a "illegal operation on a file registry key marked for deletion" or something along those lines. I exported the combo log onto a flash drive and now using another computer to send it to you. Here you go!

Hello rcs5042

Thank you for the logs.

after running the scan I am unable to open Mozilla or IE, getting a "illegal operation on a file registry key marked for deletion" or something along those lines.

Please try rebooting your computer to see if that resolves the problem. After you have rebooted, please work your way through the following steps:

  • MBAM

    • Please run a Full System Scan with MBAM and post the log created.

  • OTL

    • Perform another OTL scan according to the instructions provided in post number 4.

Please provide the OTL.txt, Extra.txt and MBAM log in your reply, along with a description of how your system is behaving at the moment.
