Please download GMER from one of the following locations and save it to your desktop:
  • Main Mirror

  • Zipped Mirror
    This version will download a zip file you will need to extract first. If you use this mirror, please extract the zip file to your desktop.
  • Disconnect from the Internet and close all running programs.
  • Temporarily disable any real-time active protection so your security programs will not conflict with gmer's driver.
  • Double-click on the randomly named GMER file (i.e. n7gmo46c.exe) and allow the gmer.sys driver to load if asked.
  • Note: If you downloaded the zipped version, extract the file to its own folder such as C:\gmer and then double-click on gmer.exe.

I'm headed to bed but after trying GMER do this:

Copy/paste the text in the Codebox below into notepad:

Here's how to do that:
Click Start > Run type Notepad click OK.
This will open an empty notepad file:

Take your mouse, and place your cursor at the beginning of the text in the box below, then click and hold the left mouse button, while pulling your mouse over the text. This should highlight the text. Now release the left mouse button. Now, with the cursor over the highlighted text, right click the mouse for options, and select 'copy'. Now over the empty Notepad box, right click your mouse again, and select 'paste' and you will have copied and pasted the text.

collect::

Save this file to your desktop, Save this as "CFScript"

Here's how to do that:
1.Click File;
2.Click Save As… Change the directory to your desktop;
3.Change the Save as type to "All Files";
4.Type in the file name: CFScript
5.Click Save …

[external image: Posted Image]

Drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe

Then post the results log using Copy / Paste

Try not to use the computer until we get it cleaned or it will just keep getting new infections.

Right! I've actually been using my own laptop to post here on WhattheTech and download all the software you've been suggesting. I drag the log files and the different scripts, applications, etc back and forth using a usb thumb drive. The only time I'm actually on the problematic laptop is when I am actively trying to fix it.
Gmer has the following boxes down the right side that can be checked/unchecked. System Sections IAT/EAT Devices Modules Processes Threads Libraries Services Registry Files Then a section with drives to scan Ads Leave only the root drive and System checked then scan. If successful, also check Sections and scan. etc etc
I ran combofix using the last cfscipt text file that you gave me above. Then I tried to run GMER with just the system and the C drive checked. But it failed about 10 minutes into the scan. I got a blue screen like before, but this time it says "BAD_POOL_CALLER." I've got to go back a few pages of this thread but I think this is a different error message then I got when I started getting these blue screens when running GMER. Anyway, below is the Combofix log:

**Important note to Dell users - fixing the mbr may prevent access the the Dell Restore Utility, which allows you to press a key on startup and revert your computer to a factory delivered state. There are a couple of known fixes for said condition, though the methods are somewhat advanced. If you are unwilling to take such a risk, you should not allow the tool to execute mbr -f nor execute the command manually, and you will either need to restore your computer to a factory state or allow your computer to remain having an infected mbr (the latter not recommended).
