I have the same thing. The only website I cannot access is the Guardian! Flushing DNS and deleting temp files makes no difference. What DOES work is entering the IP address manually. After doing that, it works fine (at least until my next reboot). Very odd. I suspect it is a configuration problem at their end. David

Exact same problem, only with http://www.guardian.co.uk/

located in Toronto, Canada on the Primus network, a reseller of Bell... pretty weird and unfortunate because there is an article I would like to read there lol

C:\Users\xxxxxxxx>nslookup www.guardian.co.uk
Server: my.router
Address: 192.168.2.1

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: www.guardian.co.uk
Address: 77.91.248.30

So try http://77.91.248.30, see if that gets you there.

Also, what does nslookup return for you from a Command Prompt window?

I'm having the exact same problem, on two computers in our house. I too am in Toronto with Primus. The mobile link doesn't work and when I try to access it with a proxy server, it sometimes loads the header but nothing else.

Can you ping the IP address... 77.91.248.30 I manage a large ISP and we had the same problem. After much investigating, it turns out one of our CIsco switches, *from the factory*, had a 'test' static route in it for the whole /8 range that the guardian is in. Removing this route fixed the problem for us. If changing DNS doesn't work, and using the IP address directly doesn't work, check with your ISP and see if they can ping the site. If you or they can't, they need to determine why. It's what you pay them for, after all. -digital

PRIMUS users in Canada need to phone Primus and the techie will fix your account while he has you on the phone. He gave me an explanation, which I did not understand. But, at least, he fixed he problem. I can now access the Guardian.

I have just started experiencing this problem; I can't access guardian.co.uk on my home PC, laptop, or iPhone. I have looked through the thread and have tried various solutions, with no success.
I flushed the DNS, am using OpenDNS now and have tried accessing http://77.91.248.30. Nothing works. I can access the site through a proxy and through my iPhone's 3G connection so I know there isn't a problem with the site.
Does anyone have any further advice?
