Hello Zass,
Welcome to What the Tech.
My name is OCD, I will be helping you with your log today.

You have also posted at GTG: http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/Win32-Heur-…es-t252334.html
The availability of helpers is always at a premium. Please post a reply at GTG and notify them that you are receiving help here at WTT and ask them to close that thread.

Please be advised, as I am still in training, all my replies to you will be checked for accuracy by one of our experts to ensure that I am giving you the best possible advise.
This may cause a delay, but I will do my best to keep it as short as possible.

I am checking over your HJT log now, I will post back shortly with instructions.

Hello Zass,

  • You may want to print out these instructions for reference prior to proceeding.
  • This solution is specifically tailored for this particular problem, please do not attempt to use this solution on another computer.
  • If you have any questions, or are uncertain about any steps please ask 'before' proceeding.

You have been infected with backdoor Trojan.

I would highly recommend you disconnect the infected computer from the internet immediately!

Please review the information I have outlined below:
  • It can allow an attacker to gain control of the system, log keystrokes, steal passwords, access personal
data, send malevolent outgoing traffic, and close the security warning messages displayed by some anti-virus and security programs.
  • I would advise for you to disconnect this PC from the Internet, and then go to a known clean computer and change any passwords or security
    information
held on the infected computer. In particular, check whatever relates to online banking financial transactions, shopping, credit
    cards
, or sensitive personal information. It is also wise to contact your financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.
  • We will do our best to clean the computer of any infections seen on the log. However, because of the nature of this Trojan, we cannot offer a total
    guarantee
that there are no remnants left in the system, or that the computer will be trustworthy.
  • Many security experts believe that once infected with this type of Trojan, the best course of action is to reformat and reinstall the Operating System.
Making this decision is based on what the computer is used for, and what information can be accessed from it.
  • Trojans are programs that can appear to serve a legitimate purpose but actually have an unwanted or harmful effect.
  • A large segment of trojan programs download other harmful software components to a user's PC without his/her knowledge.
  • This application is most likely downloaded and installed by another application that is considered to be adware or spyware.
Knowing the above, let me know how you would like to proceed.

If you wish to reformat then please let me know in your next response, I'll now continue with instructions for cleaning.

Your server is routing through South Africa, specifically Mauritius. Is this your intention?

You are using a P2P file sharing program called uTorrent. This is mostly the source of your current malware situation.
Please see this topic for more information:Perils of P2P File Sharing

I would strongly recommend that you uninstall uTorrent, however that choice is up to you.
If you wish to keep it, please do not use it until your computer is cleaned.

To remove uTorrent please go to Start Menu > Control Panel > Add/ Remove Programs
Scroll Down and locate the following programs:
  • uTorrent
Select the program, then select remove.
(if the program is not listed don't be alarmed, just continue)
NOTE: Take care when answering any questions posed by an uninstaller. Some questions may be worded to deceive you into keeping the program.

Zass,

In the future, please do not attach the logs unless requested to do so. ;)

It appears from your logs that you are running two (2) Anti-Virus programs. This can cause a conflict. You need to remove one (1) of them.
Choose either AVG Free 8.5 or avast! Antivirus. Uninstall one (1) of them before you continuing.

Please go to Start Menu > Control Panel > Add/ Remove Programs
Scroll Down and locate the following programs:

  • AVG Free 8.5 OR avast! Antivirus
Select each one of the programs, then select remove.

Exit the Control Panel when finished.

Please download ComboFix from one of these locations:

Link 1
Link 2

A guide can be found here

* IMPORTANT : Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop
  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.
*Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

[external image: Posted Image]

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

[external image: Posted Image]

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.
When finished, it will produce a log for you. The log will be located here C:\ComboFix.txt (Provided 'C' is your root directory)
Notes:
  • Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
  • ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making I-E the default browser.
  • Combofix prevents autorun of ALL CD, floppy and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security. If this is an issue or makes it difficult for you – please tell your helper.
  • CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.
Give it at least 20-30 minutes to finish if needed.

Please don't attach the scans / logs, use "copy/paste".

Zass,

You are infected with a polymorphic file infector called Sality. This infection can and will infect all the machine's executable files .exe, .scr plus .html and .htm.
Because there are a number of bugs in its code, it may create executable files that are corrupted beyond repair resulting in an inoperative machine.
Malware experts say that a Complete Reformat and Reinstall is the only way to clean the infection.
This includes All Drives that contain .exe, .scr, .hlm, & .html files.
Backup all your documents and important items only.

  • DO NOT backup any executable files (,exe .scr .html or .htm)
  • Do Not back up compressed files (zip/cab/rar) files that may contain .exe or .scr files
Reformat and Reinstall as outlined HERE

Be further advised Sality infections have been identified as having backdoor capabilities.
I suggest you do the following immediately:
  • Call all of your banks, credit card companies, financial institutions and inform them that you may be a victim of identity theft and to put a watch on your accounts or change all your account numbers.
  • From a clean computer, change *all* your online passwords – for email, for banks, financial accounts, PayPal, eBay, online companies, any online forums or groups you belong to.
  • DO NOT change passwords or do any transactions while using the infected computer because the attacker will get the new passwords and transaction information.
