Hi, my computer has been hijacked by "Personal Antivirus", I am unable to connect to the internet, when I try the page says "access denied - this page probably contains a virus" etc etc , register now, pay us 50 dollars to have your computer made safe! Also, every few seconds a virus or worm warning popped up, leading me the same way, i.e pay up to be saved! Complete bull, I know, but I can't do anything about it. When it first affected my machine, an icon (a yellow shield) appeared on the desktop, and a small one at the bottom right of the screen, alongside the others that sit there. I have Norton Antivirus 360, and when i did a scan the icon at the bottom right of the screen then disappeared, and the pop-up warnings have stopped, but when i try to connect to the internet, I have brief success, before the "page blocked" message comes up again. I found the file in C:\Program Files\PersonalAV and deleted it in safe mode, but this hasn't stopped it. Can anyone help me please? Thanks.
Hi,

Download these programs to another computer and transfer over to the infected PC via USB

Note: you may have to run them in safe mode, you may also have to rename the exe to a .com extension
