Hi,
Sorry about my earlier post…. sudden rain storm drowned my computer and I had to wait for printer and computer to dry. The computer seems to be hijacked by MyWebSearch and has removed AOL toolbar on Iternet Explorer.
Here is my Hijack This log, my startup log and my Gmer log.

Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2

theort143,

I can't open Norton AV on my desktop or by clicking on all programs in the start menu, I know Norton is running, but I don't have access to it.

You may need to reinstall Norton, do you have the installation disks, or do you get your AV through AOL?

You shouldn't remove it unless you have a way to re-install or plan on making a change in what Anti-Virus you use.
If you would still like to remove please follow the instructions below

You should first attempt to remove your Norton/Symantec product using Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel (Programs and Features, in Windows Vista).
This is the best method.
Here are some of the entries that might be present:
  • LiveUpdate (Symantec Corporation)
  • LiveUpdate Notice (Symantec Corporation)
  • Norton AntiVirus
  • Symantec KB-DocID:2003093015493306
  • Symantec Technical Support Web Controls
- - - - - Next - - - - -

After uninstalling using Windows Add/Remove Programs, run the Norton Removal Tool to ensure successful removal of all Norton references.

If no entries are present in the Windows Add/Remove Programs you still need to run Norton Removal Tool below.

Please go to http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgen…005033108162039 and select the product you have

  • Download the Norton Removal Tool.
  • Save the file to the Windows desktop.
  • On the Windows desktop, double-click the Norton Removal Tool icon.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.
Your computer may be restarted more than once, and you may be asked to repeat some steps after the computer restarts.
- - - - - Next - - - - -

You should also attempt to remove the Yahoo! Toolbar via the uninstall feature.

Via the toolbar 🖼Click to load external image (Posted Image)

  • Select "Uninstall" from the Pencil button (Toolbar Settings).
  • Click "Uninstall" on the uninstall page.
  • Close any open IE windows.
or

Via the Control Panel

HI, This is Johnny. I can't find the Yahoo! toolbar on Internet Explore or in AOL. When I try to remove the Yahoo AT&T components through the Add/Remove feature in the Control Panel, the computer freezes. The software is just a 89MB file, but it shouldn't take all night to delete, should it? I used AT&T Yahoo up until June when I switched to Time-Warner, so I think I have two different internet providers installed on my computer, so that may be where the conflict is happening. I think when I first used the DSS, the Norton icon was disabled on my desktop and I can't remember how I got it working again. I think I just turned the computer off and turned it on again. Anyway, I will try again this weekend. The computer is working fine now, by the way. Johnny
