My computer is running slow and I keep getting redirected to other web pages when I do a search or I will get a page that says: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" along with all the reasons why it cannot display the page. Below is my hijack this log. Any help is greatly appreciated.

All advice given by anyone volunteering here, is taken at your own risk.
While best efforts are made to assist in removing infections safely, unexpected stuff can happen.

Your infected with a Rogue Anti Spyware Program

Read this please as this is most likely how you got infected

We have noticed that many people seeking help from us are coming with infections contracted from the use of P2P programs.

Because of this, we changed our malware forum's policy on the use of P2P file sharing programs.

If your helper detects the presence of such programs on your computer he/she will ask you to remove them. Help will be withdrawn should you not agree to their removal.
If we clean your computer of infection, and you return to us a short time later with an infection contracted by the use of P2P programs, volunteer analysts will refuse their help.

We do not ask you to do this without reason.

P2P (File Sharing ) programs form a direct conduit onto your computer, their security measures are easily circumvented, and Malware writers are increasingly exploiting them to spread their wares onto your computer. Further to that, if your P2P program is not configured correctly you may be sharing more files than you realize. There have been cases where people's Passwords, Address Books and other personal, private, and financial details have been exposed to the file sharing network by a badly configured program.

Many of the programs come bundled with other unwanted programs, but even the ones free of any bundled software are not safe to use.

When you use them you are downloading software from an unknown source directly onto your computer, bypassing your Firewall and Anti-Virus software. Hardly surprising then that many of these Downloads are being targeted to carry infections.

Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools
See this Link for programs that need to be disabled and instruction on how to disable them.
Remember to re-enable them when we're done.
Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Hello,

Download the HostsXpert 4.2.0.0. - Hosts File Manager.

Unzip HostsXpert 4.2.0.0 - Hosts File Manager to a convenient folder such as C:\HostsXpert
Click HostsXpert.exe to Run HostsXpert - Hosts File Manager from its new home
Click "Make Hosts Writable?" in the upper right corner (If available).
Click Restore Microsoft's Hosts file and then click OK.
Click the X to exit the program.
Note: If you were using a custom Hosts file you will need to replace any of those entries yourself.

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune to your desktop.

Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

Your system may start up slower after running ATF Cleaner, this is expected but will be back to normal after the first or second boot up
Please note: If you use online banking or are registered online with any other organizations, ensure you have memorized password and other personal information as removing cookies will temporarily disable the auto-login facility.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.<– Don't forget this
When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.
The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Copy and Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a New Hijackthis log.

I am preparing to do the above. But in the mean time I am unable to login to one of my accounts (bank) everytime I go to logon the screen just refreshes with the logon info needing to be filled in again, I have called my bank and they said there is nothing wrong with the login page and if there was an error message would appear. They did double check though to make sure and everything is fine, so it has to be something with my computer and this only happened after I did the first steps that you posted. Also on my yahoo mail page the forward and move keys are not showing, they only appear once I open an email. Ok I have also noticed that some pages (these are pages I generally go to that are safe) I visit are blank. Does this have something to do with my browser?

Hi,

Resetting your hosts files would not hamper you logging into your bank, you had some bad entries in your hosts files and that tool set it back to Microsofts default settings. These needed to be removed but there could have been more we cant see.

From the ATF Cleaner instructions:
Please note: If you use online banking or are registered online with any other organizations, ensure you have memorized password and other personal information as removing cookies will temporarily disable the auto-login facility.

You didn't read over the instructions for running ATF Cleaner, when you removed cookies it disabled the log on for your bank. You may need to call them and ask them how to reset your password to access your account.

IMVU Messenger <– Not malicious but is known to cause problems, if you dont use this then it can be uninstalled via the Add Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

If you uninstall it then remove this with HJT if still present

Go to your Control Panel and click on the Java Icon ( looks like a little coffee cup ) click on About and you should have Version 6 Update 14, if not proceed with the instructions.

Download the latest version Here save it, do not install it yet.

Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) JRE 6 Update 13 <–This is what you need,the wording on the site is misleading but this is the one you want

Go to your Add Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall any previous versions of Java
Reboot your computer
Install the latest version

You can verify the installation Here

Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools> Internet Options> Advanced Tab and click on Reset Internet Explorer Settings> Reset .…this will take a minute or so…then when done, close IE, open it back up and see if that fixed it.

You can also go to Tool > Windows Updates and download and install IE8, this upgrade may fix the problem also.

ok the first thing you asked me to do I cannot find in the remove programs. Then I downloaded the java and uninstalled the old java and now the new java will not download. Also there are still blank pages when I go to certain webpages. Also when I click on search (for my computer) The dog is there but the rest of the screen is blank. What is happening? I will try and download the java again and see what happens.

Ok I have java downloaded! Yay!! These are the current problems now. 1. I cannot find the IMVU to uninstall it (I did go to the control panel/ add or remove programs/ could not find it in the list. 2. After resetting Internet Explorer settings when I open my main page the tab says: Customize your settings but the page is blank. I tried setting a homepage and it worked BUT when I click on internet explorer the same thing comes up again the tab (customize your settings) and blank page. So I have to click on the homepage symbol or type in where I want to go in address bar. 3. My search is still blank. The little yellow dog shows up, but everything above him is black with no words. Thank you so much for your help so far! It is greatly appreciated!

Go to Misc Tools> Open Uninstall Manager.
Click on Save List.
The list will open in Notepad.

I don't see it either , the file is missing so lets remove this with HJT

Are you still being redirected to other sites? As far as the other problems your having with web pages not opening, you need to do a windows update and install Internet Explorer 8, it may correct the issues your having with web pages. Or you can go here and download and install it

As far as the search with the little dog not working, that appears to be Office related and we just do Malware Removal on this forum. But when where done I will link you to some windows support forums that can help you with that.
