Hi,
Please do this scan instead. Please explain in a little more detail what you mean about not being able to click links, what links to where…IE may just need resetting.
Try enabling Java in IE
Go
here to run an online scannner from ESET.
Note: You will need to use Internet explorer for this scan Turn off the real time scanner of any existing antivirus program while performing the online scan Tick the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use. Click Start When asked, allow the activex control to install Click Start Make sure that the option Remove found threats is unticked and the Scan Archives option is ticked.Click on Advanced Settings, ensure the options Scan for potentially unwanted applications , Scan for potentially unsafe applications , and Enable Anti-Stealth Technology are ticked. Click Scan Wait for the scan to finish Use notepad to open the logfile located at C:\Program Files\Eset\Eset Online Scanner\log.txt Copy and paste that log as a reply to this topic and also let me know how things are now.
IE paltalk links. Unable to click on.
Hi, by resetting IE back to it's default it probably removed some services that you had installed. Visit the PalTalk link again and reinstall it:
http://support.paltalk.com/Install.html
Please follow these instructions to enable Java though your Web browser:
In Internet Explorer
Click
"Tools" –> "Internet Options"
Select the
Advanced Tab , and scroll down to
"Java (Sun)"
Check the box next to the
Java version
Next, select the
Security Tab , and select the
"Custom Level" button
Scroll down to
"Scripting of Java applets "
Make sure the
"Enable" radio button is
checked.
Click
OK to save your preference.
That should resolve your Java issue
See if you can run the online virus scanner (preferably Kaspersky once you enable Java - if not continue with ESET)
Please describe in detail how your computer is running and any outstanding issues you may be having.
No threats found.
Scanned Files; 59324
Infected Files: 0
Cleaned Files: 0
Total Scan time: 00:51:42
Scan Status: Finished
which program was that? please post the log if there was one?
did you reinstall the Paltalk
Please describe any issues you may still be having with your computer - in detail
I reinstaled Paltalk but still can't pull up a link…it just highlights it in dark blue but won't bring it up.
I can't get into kaspersky.
Please post a fresh DDS log

Hi,
I would like you to upload a file to be scanned
Make sure to use Internet Explorer for this Please go to VirSCAN.org FREE on-line scan service Copy and paste the following file path into the "Suspicious files to scan" box on the top of the page:
Click on the Upload button If a pop-up appears saying the file has been scanned already, please select the ReScan button. Once the Scan is completed, click on the "Copy to Clipboard " button. This will copy the link of the report into the Clipboard. Paste the contents of the Clipboard in your next reply.
please do the same for the following file;
c:\program files\IBM\Messages By IBM\bak\bak\ibmmessages.exe
•Copy and paste the following file path into the "Suspicious files to scan" box on the top of the page:
c:\docume~1\fex\locals~1\temp\mbr.sys
IT WILL NOT PASTE … wierd, don't you think?
That file scanner has been acting up today.
Try this one instead:
submit a file to virustotal for analysis
Use the browse button on that page to navigate to the location of the file to be scanned. In the right hand panel , click on the file c:\docume~1\fex\locals~1\temp\mbr.sys then click the open button. The file will now be displayed in the submit box. Scroll down a bit and click "send file" , wait for the results
Make sure you have
copied and saved the results before continuing.
Do the same for the following file
c:\program files\IBM\Messages By IBM\bak\bak\ibmmessages.exe
Please advise how your computer is running and if there are any outstanding issues
Sorry, This one will not paste either. Hope I'm not being a nuisance.
no, you are not being a nuisance at all…
try this one….
try and type in the file path exactly as you see it….
submit a file to Jotti
Please go here : http://virusscan.jotti.org/
On top of the page there is a field to add the filepath , copy and paste this filepath in there.
c:\docume~1\fex\locals~1\temp\mbr.sys
Then hit Submit
The scan will take a while before the result comes up so please be patient.
Then copy the result and post it here in this thread.
You may receive a message stating "
"The file you uploaded is 0 bytes. It is very likely a firewall or a piece of malware is prohibiting you from uploading this file"
Do the same for this one:
c:\program files\IBM\Messages By IBM\bak\bak\ibmmessages.exe
It also will not paste or even allow me to type anything in the space.
