Well.. we've proved one thing. Dgosling was absolutely right about your hijack not being completely gone.

Now you have 2 bad entries instead of one.

Of course, I've been married long enough to know that women are NEVER wrong. ;) My wife and I celebrated our 24th anniversary about a week ago.

So here we go.

I'm going to have you fix two things, then we're gonna start down that "extra mile" road because "what ails" your PC can't be found nor cured with Hijack This! And no virus scanner detects it because it's a browser hijack, not a virus or worm. :(

CLOSE ALL WINDOWS AND PROGRAMS EXCEPT HIJACKTHIS!!!!

Have Hijack This! fix these 2 things:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {F40E9B9A-970F-4B62-950A-D3A4C08AF6DA} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\fojlb.dll

O12 - Plugin for ¸æô: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\PLUGINS\npqtplugin2.dll

Reboot.

Now starts that extra mile.

Look on the bright side.

By the time you get done getting rid of this hijack, you're going to be a computer expert.

Download this zip.

http://tools.zerosrealm.com/pv.zip
Please unzip it to the desktop. It will not work if you run it from inside the zip.

After unzipped go to the desktop. Open the pv folder. Double click on the runme.bat

A dos window will open. Please select option 1 for explorer dll's by typing 1 and then pressing enter.

Notepad will open with a log in it. Please copy and paste the log into this post.

Micah6:8 Here we go. That dos stuff really makes me nervious  But the compute hasn't blown-up, or emminated deathrays or made me want to go out and disrupt the economy, so I'll stick with Ya!!!! Sometimes if we can stay awake past 9:00 on a sat. nite (we're such party animals) we break out the tunes and rock the nieghbors. He's the chief of police!! PS. I'm 9 years sober come sept. BINGO!!!!

The malware is revealed!!!!!

Please download TheKillbox from here: http://download.broadbandmedic.com/VbStuff/KillBox.zip

Unzip the files to a folder, then double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. In the "Paste Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste the following:

c:\windows\system32\loggfeh.dll

Don't click any of the buttons though, instead please click on the Action menu and choose "Delete on Reboot". On the next screen, click on the File menu and choose "Add File". The filenameand path should show up in the window. If that's successful, choose the Action menu and select "Process and Reboot". You'll be prompted to reboot, do so.

When you're back in windows, please run the latest version of cwshredder. Post a new pv.zip explorer log along with a hijackthis log.

If you haven't downloaded CWShredder, you can get it from the link in my signature.

After downloading it, CLOSE ALL WINDOWS AND PROGRAMS.

Run CWShredder, click "fix", let it fix what it can.
Micah6:8 404error document not found message comes up when I click on your sig. Also when I try to go direct. Is the malware doing this? Mmseidel

This compute stuff ain't got nothin on me
As far as I can tell, you have successfully removed the offending DLL.

You only have one item left.

BE SURE ALL WINDOWS AND PROGRAMS ARE CLOSED, EVEN INTERNET EXPLORER!!!

Fix this:

O12 - Plugin for ¸æô: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\PLUGINS\npqtplugin2.dll

Reboot and post a new log file. GOD willing, you'll be cured :)
(Sure wish I could edit that last post :rant2: )

Might as well do this.

It's part of the "cleanup" from your infection.

Please double click the  runme.bat again. This time chose option 6 for appinit contents.
Notepad will open with a log in it. Please copy and paste it into this thread.

Hey Micah6:8 Thought I had lost ya. Here's my log::Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows] "AppInit_DLLs"="c:\\windows\\system32\\loggfeh.dll" "DeviceNotSelectedTimeout"="15" "GDIProcessHandleQuota"=dword:00002710 "Spooler"="yes" "swapdisk"="" "TransmissionRetryTimeout"="90" "USERProcessHandleQuota"=dword:00002710

Ok 1 more minor cleanup.

Please double click the runme.bat again. please chose option 7.  after that is done run it one more time and chose option 6 and post the new appinit log here.

Post a new Hijackthis log also when done.

Almost home, my friend…. :)
I believe I got it right ,Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows] "AppInit_DLLs"="" "DeviceNotSelectedTimeout"="15" "GDIProcessHandleQuota"=dword:00002710 "Spooler"="yes" "swapdisk"="" "TransmissionRetryTimeout"="90" "USERProcessHandleQuota"=dword:00002710
BINGO!!!

Looks great! DLL cleanup complete.

Now, one more thing….

BE SURE ALL WINDOWS AND PROGRAMS ARE CLOSED, EVEN INTERNET EXPLORER!!!

Run Hijack this! and fix this:

O12 - Plugin for ¸æô: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\PLUGINS\npqtplugin2.dll

Reboot and post a new log file. :)

It appears that this trojan is not being killed by HijackThis in normal mode.

Please REBOOT into Safe Mode by tapping F8 repeatedly while booting up. A menu will appear where you can choose Safe Mode:

1. While in Safe Mode please Scan again with HijackThis (ALL WINDOWS CLOSED EXCEPT HJT)

2. Put a check mark beside the following entry in the HJT window

O12 - Plugin for ¸æô: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\PLUGINS\npqtplugin2.dll

3. Click 'fix checked'

4. REBOOT to finish removing the entries back into SAFE MODE by tapping F8 repeatedly while booting up

5.While still in Safe Mode Search for and DELETE the following file:

O12 - Plugin for ¸æô: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\PLUGINS\npqtplugin2.dll

6. REBOOT into normal mode

7. please SCAN again with HJT and save log to get the log to come up in notepad. Look in the log file and see if

O12 - Plugin for ¸æô: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\PLUGINS\npqtplugin2.dll

is still in the log. If it is still there, close HijackThis and open Killbox.

8. Search your hard drive for npqtplugin2.dll and make sure that the exact location and full path are as above. If there are more than one identical name with a number at the end, then all need to be removed. Copy the exact path and file name into the "Paste Full Path of File to Delete" box and click "Kill File"

9. SCAN again with HijackThis and POST a new log file here in this thread using 'Add Reply' to see if .we have got it all.

Good Luck!
Here we go. The file was not there on two scans in safe mode. Here's the log. Logfile of HijackThis v1.97.7

However- A few days ago Micah6:8 asked me to look in all my folders for a file C:\ProgramFiles\Cassinoonline. I could not find it at that time. Well I found it in a folder called C:\ProgramFiles\Casinoonline\CsRemnd.exe There were two icons in the folder and gienious that I am I clicked on the one that didn't look like a runme batt. and BINGO! A PLAY LUCKY 777 SLOTS POP-UP CAME ON SCREEN, HAD TO POWERBOOT DOWN TO GET RID OF IT. Ran hjt and got rid of it on the fix this . Went back to the folder and the icon that looks like a runme batt. was still therw. Will I be safe if I just stayaway from that folder or will it keep comming back as an auto run.exe on start up? The log looks GREAT to me but thats how I got in trouble in the first place. Thinking I knew what I was doing. Micach6:8 has helped Imencily. And thank-you for your time :weee:
