I did a Spybot scan earlier today and the scan found this: virtumonde.prx.

Yesterday my computer randomly went sluggish with my system idle process using a lot of my cpu.

Any help is much appreciated =D

Hello Breaker934

Welcome to WhattheTech.

All advice given by anyone volunteering here, is taken at your own risk.
While best efforts are made to assist in removing infections safely, unexpected stuff can happen.

Looks like the issues you posted about back in January are back

You have both SpywareGuard and the TeaTimer enabled, not a good thing, they will conflict and cause you problems, you need to disable them both for the fixes to take, and then after where done, just enable one of them.

You need to disable Spyware Guard as it may interfere with the fix.
  • Double click on the Red SG Icon in your system tray.
  • Go to Options and remove the Three security checkmarks.
  • OK your way out of the program

Disable the TeaTimer, leave it disabled, do not turn it back on until we're done or it will prevent fixes from taking

  • Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
  • If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
  • On the left hand side, Click on Tools
  • Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
  • Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
  • Restart your computer.<–You need to do this for it to take effect
Please do not proceed until the TeaTimer is disabled

Open HijackThis > Do a System Scan Only, close your browser and all open windows including this one, the only program or window you should have open is HijackThis, check the following entries and click on Fix Checked.

Go to your Add Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall Viewpoint, it installs without your knowledge or consent, is considered Adware, uses system resources and is not needed for anything.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.<– Don't forget this
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy and Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a New Hijackthis log.
Yea' the problems are back again =/ hahaha, but thank you for helping me =D

You can run this system cleaner to get rid of all the cobwebs

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune to your desktop.
  • Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
  • Under Main choose: Select All
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
Your system may start up slower after running ATF Cleaner, this is expected but will be back to normal after the first or second boot up

Lets update your Java to make your systerm more secure

Download the latest version Here save it, do not install it yet.

JRE 6 Update 13 <–This is what you need

  • Go to your Add Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall any previous versions of Java
  • Reboot your computer
  • Install the latest version
You can verify the installation Here

OTMoveIt <—Drag it to the trash

ATF Cleaner <– Yours to keep, run it now and then to clean out the clutter.

Malwarebytes <– Yours to keep also, check for updates and run a scan now and then.

  • How did I get infected in the first place ?
Read these links and find out how to prevent getting infected again.

Keep in mind if you install some of these programs. Only ONE Anti Virus and only ONE Firewall is recommended, more is overkill and can cause you problems. You can install all the Spyware programs I have listed without any problems. If you install Spyware Blaster and Spyware Guard, they will conflict with the TeaTimer in Spybot , you can still install Spybot Search and Destroy but do not enable the TeaTimer .

Here are some free programs to install, all free and highly regarded by the fine people in the Malware Removal Community
  • Spybot Search and Destroy 1.6
Check for Updates/ Immunize and run a Full System Scan on a regular basis. If you install Spyware Blaster ( Recommended ) then do not enable the TeaTimer in Spybot Search and Destroy.
  • Spyware Blaster It will prevent most spyware from ever being installed. No scan to run, just update about once a week and enable all protection.
  • Spyware Guard It offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts, again, no scan to run, just install it and let it do its thing.
  • IE-Spyad
IE-Spyad places over 6000 web sites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
  • Firefox 3 It has more features and is a lot more secure than IE. It is a very easy and painless download and install, it will no way interfere with IE, you can use them both.

Safe Surfn
Ken
The Java update you want me to do says its for 64-bit machines only. I don't think mine is a 64-bit, is there a different update I should do?
Let me tell ya, Java changes there updates and fast as you and I change our socks. I believe the update is ok but just Includes the update for 64bit, no, yours is not 64bit. But instead of taking a chance lets do it this way.

Go to Start> Control Panel> Java ( looks like a little coffee cup) and when it opens, click on the Update tab and let it update from there.

I am going to look into this , thanks for letting me know

Ken :)
Hahaha, no problem figured with all the help you've given me I might as well try helping you out =D. My Java is up to date now, is there anything else you think I should do? Should I turn my Teatimer back on or anything like that?
What I would do is in the list I gave you , install SpywareGuard, it does the same thing as the TeaTimer but not in your face as much, so leave the TT disabled, you can't run them both. You can still keep and run Spybot Search and Destroy with out the TT. Ken
