Hi,
I recently upgraded my antivirus software to Kaspersky Internet Security 2009, because one of the logins in my WinXP system was no longer able to open the Task Manager, and my drive was starting to run hot and overheat (according to my HD monitor software). After much troubleshooting and scanning, I have been unable to locate any active malware, but it doesn't look entirely clean, either. Also, I still can't access the Task Manager on the same user login. The initial scan with Kaspersky did come up with some strange errors in the scan logs (e.g. "Anti-Malware: error" -> " - Result: Overwritten with a copy disinfected earlier", and lots of other "<>: not defined: 0" listings). I've attached a screenshot of this.
Stranger still, I removed the computer HD and scanned it with Kaspersky on another computer, using a HD case, and it came up completely clean.
I just installed HijackThis, and got the attached log… Can anyone tell me if anything looks fishy? (I don't see anything obvious)
Thanks,
– Dave
