Hi there,
ive done all that , it appears ok ill ,as you said monitor over the next 24hours and let you know if a problem occurs .
do you mind if i ask a few questions?
1/ do you know what the prob was and how would i avoid it again .
2/ is the avg free version ok as an anti virus?
i have kept those tools that you gave and passed on to me .
my speciality is television production so if you ever have any querys on video editing or cameras please ask . im also a qualified electrical engineer so if you have any qestions in these fields please dont be afraid to mail me im phil compton on
now its been a long old day and im exhausted . i thank you you are a god in your field !!!
regards phil c
The problem came with the codecs you downloaded - always scan them with an Antivirus and Antimalware before installing
As for antivirus programmes if you ask twelve people you will get twenty different answers as to which is the best
My personal set up is Avast - Superantispyware - Spywareblaster and I have yet to be infected and I first went on line with windows 3.1
As I am on Vista and behind a router I do not have a firewall, apart from the Vista one. But, with XP I would recommend one
Also I removed your e-mail address or you would have gained a lot of unwanted spam
Keep safe - if you have any more questions fire away
thanks so much your a good un !!!! no probs with laptop to date . ive taken on board what you said , already kept the anti virus ones you gave me .
and mmmmm dayam codecs the only thing i really down load and avg didnt pick it up . ive got a firewall . and yes oops with my e-mail addy too trusting i guees . thanks for that and keep my e-mail you never know when you may need my advice .
thanks once again and take care.
regards phil c
