[Closed] wowfx.dll and ssqPgDtq.dll

At startup my AVG picks up wowfx.dll and ssqPgDtq.dll claiming they are a trojan.

Trying to delete them is futile as they keep reappearing, so my AVG list keeps going and going…

Hi there before I can assist you I would like to confirm that you have a legitimate copy of windows

Please go HERE (Microsoft website) using Internet Explorer (not Firefox or any other browser as they won't work)
  • Click on the Validate Windows button.
  • Be patient while the ActiveX loads, do not click on any links.
  • Read the instructions on this page while it's loading. You will be prompted to install - click YES.
  • Enter your product key then click continue
  • When it says "Validation Complete" please click Continue to return to your previous activity
  • Copy what it says and paste it here.

May I ask why? If I disable the anti-virus nothing seems to happen, but when it's enabled it finds threats and that repeats infinitely! :( I am up to date on Windows Update eetc Validation Complete! muBlinder ( Microsoft Update Blinder ) is a program that enables you to download Microsoft updates even if your copy of Windows does not pass the Microsoft Update's Genuine Windows Validation test. Though at times this utility may have legitimate uses, the fact that is typically is being used to bypass copyrighted material restrictions forces to me designate this as an unwanted program.

I need to confirm that to protect this site

  • Download OTListIt2 to your desktop.
  • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
  • When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.
  • Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.
  • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
  • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTListIt.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTListIt2.
  • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post it with your next reply.

This is painful, I do have a legit copy, not even sure why mublinder is installed. The scan gets stuck on "Scanning service: NetDDEdsdm" …

OOps sorry wrong canned this may take several minutes to run and may appear to be not responding

To ensure that I get all the information this log will need to be attached (instructions at the end) if it is to large to attach then upload to Mediafire and post the sharing link.

Download OTScanit2 to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named OTScanIt on your desktop.
  • Close ALL OTHER PROGRAMS.
  • Open the OTScanit folder and double-click on OTScanit.exe to start the program.
  • Check the box that says Scan All Users
  • Check the Radio button for Rootkit check YES
  • Under Additional Scans check the following:
    • File - Lop Check
    • File - Purity Scan
    • Evnt - EventViewer Errors/Warnings (last 10)
  • Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.
  • Let it run unhindered until it finishes.
  • When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
  • Click the Format menu and make sure that Wordwrap is not checked. If it is then click on it to uncheck it.
Please attach the log in your next post.

To attach a file, do the following:
  • Click Add Reply
  • Under the reply panel is the Attachments Panel
  • Browse for the attachment file you want to upload, then click the green Upload button
