Hi! To start with I would suggest this. Open 'Add/Remove Programs' in the Control Panel. Select the 'My Search Bar' (MySearch variant), 'MyWay Speed Bar' (MyWay) or 'My Web Search Bar' (MyWeb) entry and click 'Remove'. For the MyWeb variant, be sure to also remove 'Fun Web Products Easy Installer'. After that reboot scan with HJT and post a new log
Thank you. I appreciate your effort on behalf of my friend. The log for JEM similarly descibed (Computer freezes) can be ignored and I will get back to her if you would kindly follow up on the logs I post on her behalf. My concern was that she could not use her computer and as I am not trained to interpret the logs and thought her log was overlooked so it became quite frustrating. In lieu of a donation I would be willing to train at solving these logs. Is there a link that will direct be to that training?
Not sure if Fun Web Products is uninstalled.

Ok next step

Please do all the steps in the order they are listed
  • Important: Create a folder to place HJT in (suggestion C:\Program Files\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe).
When you run HijackThis from this folder and have it "Fixed checked" it will create a backup file of modifications to use if restore is necessary. At the moment you seem to run it from within the zipfile, extract the exe file to a folder of its own

  • Have Hijack This fix all of the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and hitting fix checked. Make sure all browsers and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.

  • Optional
The following activeX controls will reinstall when (and if) you revisit that website, UNLESS you know they are from a safe source, check to remove.

  • Click here, for instructions on how to enable hidden files and folders to be visible. After enabling, reboot into safe mode by tapping F8 after the BIOS has loaded

  • Please delete your temporary files by deleting all files and folders that are in those folders (do not delete the temp folder itself) like for example
    C:\WINDOWS\Temp\
    C:\Temp\
    C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\
Also delete your Temporary Internet Files, be sure to also select delete all offline content.

  • Reboot back into normal mode

  • Rescan with HJT and post a new log here. Also please describe how your computer behaves.
Mouse froze and rebooted. Checked mouse connection and reseated.

The log looks clean now as far as I can tell.

The trouble with the mouse I doubt is related to malware / spyware, you could try to reinstall the drivers for the mouse and see if that solves the problem

I would suggest that you go to windows update and download and install all critical updates.

You also might want to delete your Temporary Internet Files and do a full virus scan at one or more of the free virus checkers that are in that link.

To reduce the risks of getting this type of problem again look at the links in my signature. At least read this one >> How Did I Get Infected In The First Place?
