Please note that all instructions given are customised for this computer only, the tools used may cause damage if used on a computer with different infections.

If you think you have similar problems, please post a log in the HJT forum and wait for help.

Hi peterput and welcome to What the Tech :)

I'm Dakeyras and I am going to try to assist you with your problem. Please take note of the below:
  • I will start working on your Malware issues, this may or may not, solve other issues you have with your machine.
  • The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine!.
  • The process is not instant. Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine is clear. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
  • If you don't know, stop and ask! Don't keep going on.
  • Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
  • Refrain from running self fixes as this will hinder the malware removal process.
  • It may prove beneficial if you print of the following instructions or save them to notepad as I post them.
  • Your security programs may give warnings for some of the tools I will ask you to use. Be assured, any links I give are safe.
Before we start:

Please be aware that removing Malware is a hazardous undertaking. I will take care not to knowingly suggest courses of action that might damage your computer. However it is impossible for me to foresee all interactions that may happen between the software on your computer and those we'll use to clear you of infection, and I cannot guarantee the safety of your system. It is possible that we might encounter situations where the only recourse is to re-format and re-install your operating system, or to necessitate you taking your computer to a repair shop.

In light of this it would be wise for you to back up any files and folders that you don't want to lose before we start.

Download ComboFix from one of these locations:

Link 1
Link 2
Link 3

* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop
  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools
  • How To Temporarily Disable Your Anti-virus, Firewall And Anti-malware Programs can be read here
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.
**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

[external image: Posted Image]

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Note: Do not forget to re-enable your Anti-Virus application after running the above scan!

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix on your own.
This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use. ComboFix SHOULD NOT be used unless requested by a forum helper

Hi :)

Hi, thanks for waiting. :)

Not a problem and your very welcome!

Combofix log file contains chinese characters and Combofix also run in chinese, i'm not sure if will cost any inconvenience to you when reading the log file and why is like that.

Actually this relates to the infections present on your system, hence the presence of the Sinitic language characters.

I have bad news I'm afraid :(

Your computer is infected with multiple back-door Trojans, a Conflicker infection, a Keylogger and RootKits!

OK since we are dealing with the aforementioned infection(s) I would be providing your good self with a disservice if I did not make you aware of the ramifications below:

This allows hackers to remotely control your computer, steal critical system information and Download and Execute files.

I would counsel you to disconnect this PC from the Internet immediately. If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or if it should contain any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.

Although an attempt could be made to clean this machine, it could never be considered to be truly clean, secure, or trustworthy. We could not say definitively that unknown and unseen malware will have been removed, nor will your system be restored to its pre-infection state. We cannot remedy unknown changes the malware may likely have made in order to allow itself access, nor can we repair the damage it may possibly have caused to vital system files. Additionally, it is quite possible that changes made to the system by the malware may impact negatively on your computer during the removal process. In short, your system may never regain its former stability or its full functionality without a reformat. Therefore, your best and safest course of action is a reformat and reinstallation of the Windows operating system, and that is the course I strongly recommend.

Please read these for more information:

How Do I Handle Possible Identify Theft, Internet Fraud and CC Fraud?

When Should I Format, How Should I Reinstall

I can attempt to clean this machine but I can't guarantee that it will be at all secure afterwords. In fact personally I think this would be waste of my time and yours.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Please let myself know what you have decided to do in your next post.
Hi, it's truly shocking to find out my computer is so seriously infected. Once again i have to thank you so much for devoting time in advising me how to deal with such situation. I will reformat my computer asap. And there is something i need your advice. During backing up my files, how do i know that the file/folder (for example, a folder which contains few file types of files) that i back up into an external hardisk, does not contain any malicious software or aren't contaminated? Is it safe that i backup some exe files, so that i could to install softwares to a fresh system? Em..and i like to ask 1 more favor from you, i hope you can give some examples(very few will do :)) on how you find out that the computer is infected with those infections from the log file..i just hope to understand more. Thanks.
Hi :)

I can well imagine this was a shock for your good self but I assure you, carrying out a reformat and reinstallation of the Windows operating system is the prudent course of action.

If one of my own machines I would not hesitate to do so. In fact recently I had to do the same with my wife's personal laptop as it got infected from being connected to the University WAN were she works. I ended up having quite a heated discussion with the so called IT Admin who personally I would not trust to look after a pocket calculator

Levity aside how to create a safe backup as follows:

Create a folder on the root of your computer's Hard-Drive, for example call it MyBackup, transfer all the documents and pictures etc you wish to keep to this new folder. I would not trust any executable files as they stand a good chance of being compromised.

Flash_Disinfector FOR XP:
  • Please download Flash_Disinfector and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click to run it.
  • You will be prompted to plug in your flash drive. In this scenario it will be your External Hard-Drive. Plug it in.
  • Flash_Disinfector will start disinfecting your flash and hard drives. This takes a few seconds. Your desktop will disappear in the meantime.
  • When done, a message box will appear. Click OK. Your desktop should now appear. If it doesn't, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  • Click on File > New Task (Run…). Type in explorer.exe and press Enter. Your desktop should now appear.
Next:

Transfer your backup folder to the External Hard-Drive. Then safely disconnect it from your computer.

Next:

Re your how did I research query, basically I had a inkling from the start of the malware removal process things were not looking good. The end result being once I researched the other logs you provided I went through them line by line looking all up I did not recorgnise. I used SystemLookup for some of the research, Bleeping Computers File Database. Others I recognized via experience and a double check to confirm and my own private research database which I have been expanding for quite some time now to name but a few.

Reformat and Reinstallation Advice:

  • Use an Anti Virus Software - It is very important that your computer has an anti-virus software running on your machine. This alone can save you a lot of trouble with malware in the future. Only use one Anti-Virus application, otherwise a system conflict will occur and this actually lessens online protection.
Here are some free Anti Virus programs which i recommend to use:
    • Antivir PersonalEditionClassic
      • Free anti-virus software for Windows.
      • Detects and removes more than 50,000 viruses. Free support.
    • avast! 4 Home Edition
        • Anti-Virus program for Windows.
        • The home edition is freeware for noncommercial users.
    • Update your Anti Virus Software - It is imperative that you update your Anti virus software at least once a week (Even more if you wish). If you do not update your anti virus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out.
    • Use a Firewall - I can not stress how important it is that you use a Firewall on your computer. Without a firewall your computer is susceptible to being hacked and taken over. Simply using a Firewall in its default configuration can lower your risk greatly. Only use one Firewall application, otherwise a system conflict will occur and this actually lessens online protection.
Here are some free Firewalls which i recommend to use:
(Use only one, and disable your Windows Firewall)
  • Keep your system updated-Microsoft releases patches for Windows and other products regularly:

      • Change the Installation of desktop items to Prompt
      • Change the Launching programs and files in an IFRAME to Prompt
      • Change the Navigate sub-frames across different domains to Prompt
      • When all these settings have been made, click on the OK button.
