Due to the large numbers of HJT logs being posted, there are four things that you need to be aware of.

1) If you have already posted this log at another forum, you need to post here that you have done so and this topic will be closed.
Multiple posting not only ties up valuable resources, but could also result is some unpleasant side-effects for your system if you follow two sets of instructions at the same time.
If, during research, an identical log is identified at another forum, this thread will be closed.

2) If you don't post a meaningful reply to any of my posts within five days, this thread will be closed. Due to limited free time, I can only have so many open threads at any one time and if yours isn't active, somebody else's will be.
If, by omission, the thread hasn't be closed after five days and you post, it will just serve as a reminder to me to close it.
Please note that "I just dropped in to say Hi!" isn't a meaningful reply!

3) Malware removal is a tricky business, and malware writers don't tend to worry about the damage their creations do, so it is advisable to back-up all important files BEFORE we start. Although most cases have a successful conclusion, on occasion things don't go according to plan and it is better to be prepared for the worst.

4) Back-ups can get lost or damaged, so make two if the files are that important to you!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Open Notepad: Start > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad.
Click on Format and ensure that Wordwrap is unchecked. If it isn't, place your curser over it to highlight it, and left click.
Then post a fresh HJT log as the original isn't easy to read with the spaced lines in it.
Will you also post a brief description of the problems that you are having - "Take a Look Someone!, System Hijacked!" isn't really that informative. Bear in mind that you can see your PC and I can't, and the more you can tell me about the problem, the easier you make it for both of us.
With regard to your PM, I have no idea where your post went, so you'll need to post it into this thread, either again or for the first time.
I understand about having many request….I will reply ASAP per your instructions……My computer apparently had a file that spybot search and destroy found the other day…It had a name like Venundo or somthing like that….I just can't remember….I also ran Malwarebytes and if found 11 infected files……it removed those……I posted latest HJT log file you requested.
Thanks for you help.
My system seems to be a little better today, however I would like for you to take a look at the latest log file for me. I wish I could shorten the load time for XP. Some of the Running processes might could be cut and that would help……If you see anything I don't need let me know…..Some things are done automatically on the system, and there are somethings one can update manually….. I just want to make sure my system is clean and performance is as good as it can be. Lately it's been terrible……………Thanks again for all your help!
The difficulty with speed issues is that it is hard to nail down the exact cause. The following steps will serve as a spring clean for your PC. Not all of them will be of benefit to your PC as this is a general post, but the overall effect should be positive.
1) Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and remove any programs that you no longer use and then reboot your PC.
2) Download ATF Cleaner by Atribune from here and save it to your Desktop.
Double click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Check the boxes to the left of:
Windows Temp
Current User Temp
All Users Temp
Temporary Internet Files
Java Cache
The rest are optional - if you want to remove the lot, check "Select All".
Finally click Empty Selected. When you get the "Done Cleaning" message, click OK.
If you use the Firefox or Opera browsers, you can use this program as a quick way to tidy those up as well.
When you have finished, click on the Exit button in the Main menu.
For Technical Support, double-click the e-mail address located at the bottom of each menu.
Please Note: This program is for Windows XP and Windows 2000 only.
3) Double click My Computer.
Right click the disc drive you wish to check.
Click Properties.
In the Properties dialog box, click the Tools Tab.
Under Error-checking, click the Check Now button.
In the "Check Disc Local Disk (C:)" dialog box, check both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, and then click Start.
This will look for and attempt to repair any errors that your hard drive has.
4) Defragment your hard drive. A tutorial for disc defragmentation is available here.
5) Download and run StartUp Inspector.
This program will help you to decide exactly what programs you disable from running at startup.
The Readme.txt file included has instructions on how to use it.
We'll take a peek under the hood and see if anything's lurking. Pay a visit to the Kaspersky Online Scanner 7 - I.E. is preferred for this scan.
  • Read the Information panel and then click Accept.
  • Allow the ActiveX download if necessary.
  • Both the anti-virus engine and database will need to be downloaded, which may take a little time.
  • Once this has been completed, select My Computer from the Scan section on the left hand side.
  • Put the kettle on!
  • Although it is recommended by Kaspersky that you should disable your anti-virus scanner before starting this scan, it should work OK with it still active - it does on my PC.
    Although you may find the scan speed increases if you carry out this step, I never like to disable my resident scanner while online, so I don't.
  • When the scan has completed, click View scan report at the bottom.
  • Click Save Report As…
  • Enter a name for the file in the Filename: text box and then click the down arrow to the right of Save as type: and select text file (*.txt)
  • Click Save and pick a location for the file - the Desktop is always handy.
Copy and paste the report into your next reply along with a fresh HJT log, run in Normal Mode, and a description of how your PC is behaving.
Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble with the accept button of the licence, click on the Zoom tool located at the right bottom of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license accepted, reset to 100%.
Pay a visit to the Kaspersky Online Scanner 7 - I.E. is preferred for this scan. Read the Information panel and then click Accept. Ran Start Up Doctor and only stopped the Shared Microsoft Calender Reminde from loading. As for the Kaspersky Online Scanner 7. The Accept icon will not hilight. Therefore I cannot accept…..Any idea what might be wrong there….I did not turn off my virus program when doing this…… Thanks!
Possibly the security settings you have for IE. Go to Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Security Tab - what is the Security level for the Internet zone?
I have no idea then - it works fine for me with that setting. Pay a visit to the ESET Online Scanner - IE is required for this.
  • Check the box to accept the Terms of Use.
  • Accept the ActiveX download, Install it and watch it download the required files.
  • Once this has been completed, you will see the Computer Scan box with two options - check ONLY the "Scan unwanted applications" box and then Scan.
  • Once the scan has completed you can see the results under the Details Tab in the Results Window.
    There will be a copy of this report saved as log.txt in the C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner folder.
  • Please post the contents of this file in your next reply.
As for Kaspersky Online Scanner 7 when I try to get that accept icon button…..It says I need to get java 1.5 or later….I am running version 6 with update 13 (build 1.6.0_13-b03) The ESET online scanner will not run either…….This is why I know something is going on I cannot see or find……. Thanks!
It could just be that your copy of Java is borked in some way. I suggest that you download a fresh copy and uninstall/reinstall it and see if that helps - you can get the latest installation file here. As for the scan, try this:
Create a new folder on your Desktop (right click an empty area and select New > Folder) and name it System Cleaner.
  • Download sysclean.com from here and save it into the System Cleaner folder.
  • Download the Official Pattern Release file from here and save it to your Desktop - The file will be called lptXXX.zip (where XXX represents the version number).
  • Unzip the folder and place the file lpt$vpn.XXX into the System Cleaner folder - see here for an explanation of how to unzip/extract properly.
  • Doubleclick sysclean.com which will be in the System Cleaner folder to start the tool.
  • Ensure that the "Automatically Clean Infected Files" box is checked.
  • Click scan.
  • Once the scan has completed, click Exit
Open the System Cleaner folder and copy and paste the contents of sysclean.log in your next reply along with a fresh HJT log AND a description of how the PC is running.
Don't worry if you get a pop-up when you run SysClean telling you that a file is missing and the Spyware Scan will be disabled - just let it run as is.
