Hello! I am running Windows XP. I have installed SuperAntiSpyware4.25.1014, and SmartPopup Blocker. I also have Avast and Ad-Aware. I am still overrun by adserver popups. :pullhair: Can you please help me get rid of them?

Hi annie1963

Please do the following

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs

locate any program with the name Vendio or SearchSettings

and select Remove

Then use Explorer (windows button + E) to search for the corresponding folder in your Programs files

it should be located in C:\Program Files\Search Settings <— delete that folder

Next

  • Open HiJackThis
  • Click on Do a system scan only
  • Check the boxes next to ONLY the entries listed below (if still present):

  • Close all windows except Hijackthis and click Fix Checked
  • Click Yes when prompted
  • Close HijackThis.

NEXT

  • Download OTListIt2 to your desktop.
  • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
  • When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.
  • Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.
  • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
  • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTListIt.Txt and Extras.Txt.
    Note:These logs can be located in the OTListIt2. folder on you C:\ drive if they fail to open automatically.
  • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post it with your next reply. You may need two posts to fit them both in.
