Hi BennyLCB, welcome to the forum.

I closed your other thread for this log.

To make cleaning this machine easier
  • Please do not uninstall/install any programs unless asked to
It is more difficult when files/programs are appearing in/disappearing from the logs.
  • Please do not run any scans other than those requested
  • Please follow all instructions in the order posted
  • All logs/reports, etc.. must be posted in Notepad. Please ensure that word wrap is unchecked. In notepad click format, uncheck word wrap if it is checked.
  • Do not attach any logs/reports, etc.. unless specifically requested to do so.
  • If you have problems with or do not understand the instructions, Please ask before continuing.
  • Please stay with this thread until given the All Clear. A absence of symptoms does not mean a clean machine.

If you are using a removable USB device to transfer logs/programs to and from the infected computer, we will try to protect it as best as we can.

Download Flash_Disinfector.exe by sUBs and save it to your desktop.
  • Double-click Flash_Disinfector.exe to run it and follow any prompts that may appear.
  • The utility may ask you to insert your flash drive and/or other removable drives including your mobile phone. Please do so and allow the utility to clean up those drives as well.
  • Wait until it has finished scanning and then exit the program.
Reboot your computer when done.
Note: Flash_Disinfector will create a hidden folder named autorun.inf in each partition and every USB drive plugged in when you ran it. Don't delete this folder…it will help protect your drives from future infection.

Next
Please download these programs and transfer them directly directly to the desktop of the infected machine.

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to a Cd or removeable USB device.

Please download DDS and save it to a Cd or removeable USB device.

On the infected machine

Please disable WINDOWS DEFENDER
  • Click Start > All Programs > Windows Defender or launch from the system tray icon.
  • Click on Tools & Settings > Options.
  • Under Administrator options, clear the Use Windows Defender check box, and then click Save. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation
(When we are done, you can re-enable Defender using the same steps but this time place a check next to "Turn on real-time protection" check box.)

Please note that as a Vista user you will need to right click and Run as Administrator to run the tools we will use.

Right Click mbam-setup.exe and chose Run as Administrator to install the application
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, uncheck Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, if checked, then click Finish.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

Next, please click your start button, Right click run and chose Run as Administrator
  • in the run box, type cmd
  • click ok
  • in the black command window that opens type ipconfig /flushdns
note there is a space between inconfig and the /
  • hit enter
  • it should give you a messeage similar to "Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache"
  • close the window

Next
  • Disable any script blocking protection
  • Right click dds.scr and chose Run as Administratortor run the tool.
  • When done, DDS.txt will open.
  • Click Yes at the next prompt for Optional Scan.
  • Save both reports to your desktop.
—————————————————

Please include the contents of the following in your next reply:

DDS.txt

Please attach the second file; Attach.txt. To attach a file, do the following:
  • Under the reply panel is the Attachments Panel
  • Browse for the attachment file you want to upload, then click the green Upload button
  • Once it has uploaded, click the Manage Current Attachments drop down box
  • Click on [external image: Posted Image] to insert the attachment into your post

Hi BennyLCB,

It may be a hardware issue, but there is a suspicious file we will check at Virus Scan.

Since it seems you don't have a connection at the moment, we'll do this in the safest manner possible.

Download and transfer this program to the infected computer.

Please download ZipIt from here:
Download 1
Download 2

From the desktop of the infected machine

  • Double-click ZipIt! to run it.
  • Then copy the content of the following codebox into the textfield:

    c:\users\chuayik\appdata\roaming\fqtbdu.dll
  • Then, just click the Zip button.
  • When finished, and if successful, a new zip file will have been created on your Desktop. You will be notified of what the file name is when the process has been completed.

Move the newly created zip file to the USB/CD that you are using for transfering files.

Make sure to use Internet Explorer for this
  • Please go to VirSCAN.org FREE on-line scan service
  • Use the browse button to navigate to the zip file.
  • Click open
  • The zip file will now be in the "Suspicious files to scan" box on the top of the page:
  • Click on the Upload button
  • If a pop-up appears saying the file has been scanned already, please select the ReScan button.
  • Once the Scan is completed, click on the "Copy to Clipboard" button. This will copy the link of the report into the Clipboard.
  • Paste the contents of the Clipboard in your next reply.

Thanks
the zipit says that the file doesnt exist.. what next? and also, the internet connection for that infected machine is available now, juz smtimes it doesnt connect.. and this situations occur randomly..
Hi BennyLCB,

If you have a connection, download this program to the infected machine.

Download ComboFix from one of these locations:

Link 1
Link 2
Link 3

* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. Note: If you are having difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, or are unsure as to what programs need to be disabled, please refer to the information available through this link : How to Disable your Security Programs
  • Right click on ComboFix.exe, click Run as Administrator & follow the prompts.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Notes:

1.Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
2. ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making I-E the default browser.
3. Combofix prevents autorun of ALL CD, floppy and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security. If this is an issue or makes it difficult for you – please tell your helper.
4. CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

Please post back with the combofix log and a new HJT log.

Thanks
very sorry sir.. should have left a msg here.. i am waiting for the owner of the laptop to do what u asked for above.. but his laptop is not with him now, borrowed to a colleague.. gv me time ya..
Hi BennyLCB,

Do you have access to the laptop now?

Open hijackthis, do a system scan only and checkmark these lines, if present

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C255C8A-E604-49b4-9D64-90988571CECB} - (no file)
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [hkxdoi] rundll32.exe "C:\Users\chuayik\AppData\Roaming\fqtbdu.dll",wkqciyy

Close ALL other windows/browsers and click Fix Checked. Answer Yes if prompted. Close HJT.

Reboot the computer and obtain a new HJT log.

How is the computer now?
