Hi,

Let's have a look at your system.

Please download DDS and save it to your desktop.
  • Disable any script blocking protection
  • Double click dds.scr to run the tool.
  • When done two logs should open:
  • DDS.txt
  • Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop.
—————————————————
  • Post the contents of the DDS.txt report in your next reply
  • Attach the Attach.txt report to your post by scrolling down to the Attachments area and then clicking Browse. Browse to where you saved the file, and click Open and then click UPLOAD.
Are you experiencing any problems at the moment?

Thanks.

Hi,

LimeWire
You have LimeWire, a P2P/file sharing programs installed on your computer. P2P applications like it are the largest source of malware we see. You'll be doing yourself a favor by removing it.

References for the risk of these programs can be found in these links:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/commun…protection.mspx
http://www.techweb.com/wire/160500554
http://www.internetworldstats.com/articles/art053.htm
See Clean/Infected P2P Programs here

I would recommend that you uninstall LimeWire, however that choice is up to you. If you choose to remove these programs, you can do so via Control Panel >> Add or Remove Programs.

If you wish to keep it, please do not use it until your computer is cleaned.

Download ComboFix by sUBs from here or here

Note: If you already have a copy of ComboFix on your system it is essential that you delete it before downloading this copy.

**Save it to your desktop**

Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts. If you are prompted to install the Recovery Console I recommend you go ahead and hit yes.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please save that log to post in your next reply along with a fresh HJT log

Notes:
  • Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.
  • ComboFix may reset a number of Internet Explorer's settings, including making I-E the default browser.
  • Combofix prevents autorun of ALL CD, floppy and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security. If this is an issue or makes it difficult for you - please let me know.
  • ComboFix disconnects your machine from the internet when it runs. This connection should be automatically restored when ComboFix completes its run. If ComboFix runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.
Thanks.
Hi,

OK.

Please download SystemLook from one of the links below and save it to your Desktop.
Download Mirror #1
Download Mirror #2

  • Double-click SystemLook.exe to run it.
  • Copy the content of the following codebox into the main textfield:
    :dir
    C:\QooBoox /s
  • Click the Look button to start the scan.
  • When finished, a notepad window will open with the results of the scan. Please post this log in your next reply.
Note: The log can also be found on your Desktop entitled SystemLook.txt

Please run DDS again and post the first log it gives (DDS.txt).

Thanks.
When I pasted it into the SystemLook, it said this in the notepad: SystemLook v1.0 by jpshortstuff (02.03.09) Log created at 19:16 on 04/03/2009 by chris (Administrator - Elevation successful) ========== dir ========== C:\QooBoox - Unable to find folder. -=End Of File=-
I am really sorry - stupid typo on my part. Try with this:
:dir
C:\QooBox /s

Post a new DDS log (DDS.txt) regardless of whether the SystemLook scan works or not.

Thanks.
This is what I got from the scan: SystemLook v1.0 by jpshortstuff (02.03.09) Log created at 04:09 on 07/03/2009 by chris (Administrator - Elevation successful) ========== dir ========== C:\QooBox - Parameters: "/s" —Files— None found. Hi,

Looks like ComboFix didn't get all the way through its run. Make sure ComboFix is on the Desktop and then try this:

Click Start >> Run…. Copy/paste the following code into the run box and then hit Enter:
"%userprofile%\desktop\combofix.exe" /killall

This will run ComboFix in a special way. If you still don't get a log from this please run DDS again and post the first log it gives (DDS.txt).

Thanks.
Include the "", leave the %userprofile% as it is. ComboFix needs to be on your Desktop for this to work.

If that doesn't work, try this:

1. Go to Start->Run and type in notepad and hit OK.

2. Then copy and paste the content of the following codebox into Notepad:

@echo off
ComboFix.exe /KillAll
del /Q %0

3. Save the file to your DESKTOP as "run.bat". Make sure to save it with the quotes. Once saved, the icon to click should look like this on your desktop: [external image: Posted Image]

4. Double click run.bat.

Post the ComboFix log if it works.
