Heres the HJT, i already ran adaware and CWS shredder. I would really really appreciate your help on getting rid of the popups that could make my head explode.

Hi aquacoyote, we'll get you going again. Print these instructions as you will not be able to come to this forum while in safe mode.

Perform the following in order please.

Go to add/remove programs and uninstall any programs you do not use or want, including
twaintech


Boot into safe mode by pressing repeatedly as the computer boots.

Go to Start>Settings>Control Panel and Click "Internet Options"
Under the general tab of the Internet Options Dialog box click the "Delete Files" button.
Put a check mark in the "Delete all offline content" box then click "ok"
Close the Internet Options dialog box.
Go to Start>Run and type %temp% then click "ok"
The window that opens is your temp folder.
Go to Edit>Select All. Now press your delete key one time and say "ok" to the prompt.
When the files are all removed, close the window.

Place a check mark in HijackThis next to each of the following (some may be gone since doing the uninstalls).
Close all browser windows and shut down all other programs with a placeholder in the taskbar.
Click "fix checked."

Get an online scan at Panda ActiveScan
You have to use Internet Explorer. Once you have completed the download of the sites software, a window with "scan options"on the right will come up. Check mark all the options (some will already be checked) then click the "All My Computer" icon to start the scan.
The scan can take a long time if you have allot of files on your computer.
When the scan finishes, click the "See Report" button and then the "Save Report" button. Save the file. We may want to see it but do not post it yet.

Reboot again

The Windows Media Player entry (highlighted blue in the above listing) worries me, it should not be running at startup. That is one reason I recommend the online scan.
Does WMP run at startup? When you use WMP, does it perform normally?

Do not use Windows Media Player until we have resolved these issues


Once all of the above is done, post a fresh HijackThis log to this thread.

hi.

heres the recent hjt log. THANKS SO MUCH for your help, i followed your instruction, i couldnt delete the odd 6-7 temp files for some reason.

CWS always finds that WMP has been 'corrupted' and then disables it.. it doesnt startup when i boot computer.

panda found 5 files infected.

Go to your c:\windows folder and see if this file is in there
internat.exe
This is a case where the file could be good or bad depending on its location (a malware file uses the same name). I could not determine the location of the file from your log. If there is one in c:\windows then rename it to internat.TXT and let us know you found one there. The one in the c:\windows\system32 folder is ok and there will be others on your computer that are not necessarily bad either.

I would like to see the panda scan log. If you would, please do a little formatting to make it easier to read. I would like each item to start on a new line instead of a new column and you can remove the top line which labels the columns.

After you post the panda scan log and the results of the check on internat.exe, go here and download Windows Media Player 9. Once that is done shut down all other programs and install it. Try out WMP after you install the new copy and let us know how it works.
