i am also experiencing strange graphic problems, the default blue that is displayed at the windows start up screen has vertical strips of the normal blue and another darker color

on the boot screens where it is just black text, such as the safe mode boot menu, there are strange graphical problems

here is a link of what i went through in the virus section....

Greetings.

You mentioned the motherboard had been replaced?

Did you run a Clean Install of Windows?

If not you need to.

Hi bmac85,

you stated:
QUOTE
I guess it could be a hardware issue but the motherboard, cpu, fans, i think thats it... where recently replaced.

Did you do that work yourself?

Can we presume that the machine ran successfully for a period of time?
You indicate a desire to save/backup data, so I'm wondering if you were able to run the machine for a while successfully and have accumulated those files and documents you want to save....

or as Jephree possibly suspects, that you may have replaced the motherboard and CPU and then possibly just connected up the same Hard Drive(s) <--- which wouldn't work well and could cause problems much like what you describe.
______________-

If it did run well for a while...

Have a look in your Device Manager.
Any yellow or red warning signs... particularly associated with "display Adapters" and/or Monitors

the computer did run fine for a couple of months after the components where installed...

if this is a hardware failure it has to be something caused by the infection that i just cleared out on the other message board

the computer ran fine before this

i will not be able to give you any other info till sunday or monday

thanks for your help
